Days of Our Lives stars channel their characters in a hilarious group chat moment

Between Johnny (Carson Boatman) going on trial and Salem’s blackout causing some chaos, things have been tense lately on Days of Our Lives. Xander (Paul Telfer) and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) reunited, while Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and JJ (Casey Moss) seem completely kaput, and little Thomas (Cary Christopher) is learning scheming skills from Rachel (Alice Halsey). But outside the storylines, the cast took a break from all the angst to bring some humor to fans. The show shared a hilarious video of the cast pondering what group chats read like in Salem.

Salem in a chat thread

In Instagram, the official Days of Our Lives page posted, “If Salem had a group chat, you know it would be pure chaos. 😂📱 What would you drop in the chat?” In the video, many cast members playfully chimed in with what their characters might say. Boatman started things off, noting, “If Salem had a group chat, I think Johnny would be chiming in right now with #notguilty.” Next was Abigail Klein (Stephanie), who stated, “Has anyone read 'One Stormy Night’? I hear it's really steamy.” She feigned being shocked and possibly embarrassed upon the book’s mention. Jimenez didn’t need to cite anything specific with her comment, “EJ's not gonna get away with this.”

Ashley Puzemis (Holly) told Leo Howard (Tate) and Louis Tomeo (Aaron), “Holly would just, like, heart your guys' messages but not respond.” And Tomeo added, “Unavailable.” Elia Cantu, who plays Days of Our Lives’ Police Commissioner Jada Hunter, tried not to burst into laughter when she said, “Whatever you say can or will be used against you in a court of law.” Susan Seaforth Hayes speculated that her character Julie would state, “Isn't there going to be a buffet?”

Robert Scott Wilson (Alex) remarked, “[Alex would] probably see if he was Eskimo brothers with anybody.” James Reynolds’ (Abe) answer was simple: “Stop texting me.” Tomeo stated, “Aaron would do the beer cheers and the clock emoji with a question mark.” Eric Martsolf (Brady) felt the comment would be from his character, but about it: “Brady, why are you even giving your input? You're probably drinking again.” And Howard chimed in with, “Uh, Tate would probably just be checking in on everyone because he's just nice to a fault.”

Fans couldn’t stop laughing

Fans loved the idea of putting Salem’s most unpredictable characters in one text thread. @telfermania wrote, “I think Xander would send shirtless selfies to the group chat!” Al Calderon (Javi) added, “No one asked, but Javi would spam photos of Tesoro in his different outfits - not realizing the mom could be in the chat.”

Some kept it short but enthusiastic. @bernadettecrawford81 said, “Omg I love this!! Go DAYS!!!” while @iamatxprincess joked, “I wish ‘One Stormy Night’ was a real book. It’d be interesting to read.” @saby_195 chimed in, “Abe with the ‘stop texting me’ is such a mood lol.”
