Luca Guadagnino's upcoming thriller After The Hunt is releasing worldwide on 17th October 2025.
Oscar-nominated filmmaker Luca Guadagnino is known for directing films including The Protagonists (1999), Call Me by Your Name (2017), Challengers (2024) and Queer (2024), to name a few.
The trailer for the film has been freshly dropped on 16th July 2025, by Amazon MGM Studios. It comes with an intriguing tagline that says:

After The Hunt is all set to release all over on 17th October 2025, by Sony Pictures Releasing International.
Prior to its global release, the film is slated to be released for a limited screening in the United States on 10th October 2025 by Amazon MGM Studios. It is releasing in cities, including Los Angeles and New York.
The film is supported by production companies including Frenesy Film Company, Big Indie Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Imagine Entertainment. Joining Guadagnino, the film is produced by Brian Grazer, Allen Mandelbaum and Jeb Brody.

The film has a stellar cast of actors, including Julia Roberts, who is portraying the role of an esteemed professor named Alma Olsson. Along with her, we have Ayo Edebiri, who plays the role of Olsson's student, Maggie Price. Andrew Garfield also stars in the film, essaying the role of Alma Olsson's work associate Henrik "Hank" Gibson.

What is After The Hunt about?
The film follows a professor named Alma Olsson whose torrid past resurfaces as her student Maggie comes to her with a strong allegation of assault against Olsson's workmate, Hank.
Its synopsis, as per IMDb, goes as follows:
"A college professor finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star pupil levels an accusation against one of her colleagues and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come to light."
The trailer offers its viewers an insight into the intricate world the film is set in. It sparks more intrigue as one catch moments of confrontations between the older and the younger generations featured. The relationships shared between each character seem complicated and layered.
Hank seems to be interested in Alma Olssen, who is a married woman. When Olssen confronts Hank about the assault allegation Maggie has made against him, Hank tells her that Maggie is making this all up since he had caught her being complicit in an act of plagiarism.
To make matters more complicated, it is hinted that there are more layers to Maggie's character, who seems to harbor some hidden romantic feelings for Alma Olsson. Alongside, Olsson has some checkered past that she has been hiding all this while too.
