Benny Safdie is officially voice of Bowser Jr in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

More and more details about The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are being revealed every day, and fans are extremely hyped for the release of the movie rendition of the popular video game. With the first trailer drop of the movie, Benny Safdie and Brie Larson have been added to the cast of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

While Brie Larson is set to voice the character of Princess Rosalina, Benny Safdie will act as the voice of Bowser Jr.

If the plot is similar to that of the video game, Mario will have to go into outer space and rescue Princess Peach, who was kidnapped by Bowser from her castle during the Star Festival. After abducting Princess Peach, Bowser takes her into outer space, forcing Mario to go into an intergalactic zone to save the princess.

Naturally, Benny Safdie will playing an integral character in the movie, as he voices the character of Bowser.

Benny Safdie and Brie Larson join the cast of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

While the Super Mario Galaxy Movie sees most of its original cast returning as voice actors, there are two new actors who have joined the cast as well - Benny Safdie who will voice the character of Bowser Jr, and Brie Larson who will voice the character of Princess Rosalina.

Benny Safdie is well known for his prominent role in movies like Uncut Gems, Heaven Knows What, and Good Time. Brie Larson, on the other hand, is famous for the captivating characters she portrayed in movies like Room, The Glass Castle, and in her role as the beloved Captain Marvel in the MCU.

Aside from these fresh voices, the Super Mario Galaxy Movie will also feature many returning actors, who will continue to voice the leading roles in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. These actors will include Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Jack Black as Bowser, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

The movie has been directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, who, incidentally, also directed the first Super Mario movie. The movie is part of the Super Marios Bros. movie franchise, and is the third installment in the series. Based on the popular video game by the same name, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has already garnered quite the fanbase who are excited for the movie to release, even though the release is still quite a few months away.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled to hit the theatres on April 3, 2026.
