Travis Barker was spotted meeting with incarcerated firefighters at their facility. According to reports, the drummer joined the crew very early on Friday morning, October 3, 2025. This came after he and his band performed at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento on Thursday night.

The incarcerated firefighters are from Pine Grove fire camp near Sacramento. They first met the drummer while stationed at the Rose Bowl, battling Southern California’s massive wildfires in January.

“A lot of them came from the juvenile system, and this program gives them the ability for real change and to make a difference. To see the humanity in all of them was amazing,” he told TMZ.

Travis Barker added:

“They saw themselves as criminals before because that’s all anyone told them -- and now they are being told they are heroes, first responders, and they begin to see themselves differently.”

More details on Travis Barker’s running initiative

According to TMZ, Travis Barker’s run with Pine Grove fire camp crew was “all about motivation, discipline, and mutual respect.” The Blink-182 member is set to host another Run Travis Run event on Sunday morning. It's scheduled to take place in Palm Desert.

“Run for your life. Run for life. Run because you woke up healthy, and that's not promised. Run because it might be the one thing that gets you through a tough day, and you've been through worse. Run because it gives you time to think,” Travis Barker said in a documentary showcasing his time with the Pine Grove fire camp crew.

Travis Barker added:

“Run because it gives you time alone. Run because you've got people to live for. Run because you don't need anything but your will. Run because it's the only place no one can fake it. Run because you survive more than most. Run because you've made it this far. Don't stop now, run! It's your life.”

Travis Barker took up running after his 2008 plane accident that left him with burns on 70% of his body. He said in a statement that he took up running to prove everyone wrong.

“After my accident in 2008, more than 70% of my body was burnt, and I was told by doctors that I may never be able to walk or play drums the same again. I was never athletic and I never played sports, but I immediately had this urge to prove everyone wrong, including myself,” he said.

He created the Run Travis Run project to provide a community for people interested in running.

“The running community is massive and it really inspired me to create Run Travis Run as a way to bring like minded people together. I wanna motivate people to get outside and walk or run for a few hours, as well as make healthy decisions and create healthy habits. This is what Run Travis Run is built off of and we are just getting started.”
