Dame Dash recently took to Instagram to show off his boxing skills with a punching bag in an Instagram video. The 54-year-old entrepreneur is seen using boxing gloves to punch the black bag. In the video, the entrepreneur has his bag in the garage of his place, next to a black car. He is bare-chested and in a pair of shorts with a chain on his neck.

The video posted on X by @ArtOfDialogue has since gone viral, with fans taking to social media to express their views, as exemplified by the reactions below. Some fans reacted by questioning whether he was actually broke or not (Dame Dash filed for bankruptcy in September 2025), while others commented on his form:

"when mfers say he broke… are they saying regular folk broke… or rich ni**a broke?" one netizen questioned.
"So he can afford a heavy bag and boxing gloves? Well when is he going to make another Hov?" another netizen questioned.
"His technique is clean but he ain’t hurting no one with those slaps. Now considering he’s 50+ years old, he’s solid." one commenter opined.

Dame Dash previously talked about boxing in an episode of Van Lathan's Red Pill Podcast in 2018, where he talked about how he was part of an underground boxing club alongside Q-Tip, Heavy D, and Jay-Z, among others.


Dame Dash declared bankruptcy in September 2025

Dame Dash declared bankruptcy in September 2025. As per an exclusive report by AllHipHop, Dame Dash filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 7 of the US bankruptcy code. The bankruptcy filing was for over $25 million in debt, tied to child support, taxes, and legal dues.

As per Investopedia, Chapter 7 is a form of bankruptcy filing in which the debtor's non-exempt assets are liquidated to pay off debts. This particular process also automatically provides a stay on debt collection as well as evictions. Under this rule, tax debts and child support are paid first.

As per AllHipHop, the entrepreneur has tax dues of over $19 million to the US government. Dash also has $647,000 unpaid child support as well as unsecured claims over $5.5 million. A Chapter 7 also remains in the bankrupt person's tax records for 10 years.


More on Dame Dash's career

Dame Dash started his career as Jay Z's business manager back in the early 1990s. He was also the co-founder of the now-defunct record label Roc-A-Fella Records. He subsequently fell out with Jay Z after the label was purchased by Def Jam Recordings. Subsequently, Jay Z also bought out Dame Dash's shares from Rocawear.

In 2015, the personality founded DD172, a media collective. After that, he released the album Culture Vultures (Audio Experience) alongside Kenyatta Griggs. Dash also has a rock group titled The Black Guns, which released its album 365. The album is a collaboration with the rapper Freeway. Dash talked about the album in an exclusive interview with Revolt on January 26, 2024:

"You know, we started with the fundamentals ’cause it’s rock and roll and we want to introduce it right. So, we had to start from like, you know, doing small venues. Get that intimate feeling."

He continued:

"You know, that promo tour feeling, kinda. So we just went from Florida to Indianapolis, got right in the car and went right over to Detroit. So, I feel like [it’s] the old Roc-A-Fella days. Real rock and roll. I feel like a real rock star right now."

The personality is the father of five children. His first partner was the late R&B singer Aaliyah. His first wife was Rachel Roy in 2005. Since 2015, he has been in a relationship with Raquel Horn.
