Masters of the Universe star Alison Brie reveals some exciting details about the upcoming feature film reboot, where she will be playing the villainous Evil-Lyn.
Brie's character is central to He-Man's story, which began shortly after Mattel launched the He-Man action figures in the 1980s. She is a key antagonist who stands in the hero's way as he tracks his origins on Eternia. While a supervillainess herself, Evil-Lyn is also known to aid the big bad Skeltor in his mission against the hero.
The upcoming film, which stars Allison Brie, is the latest attempt to bring He-Man's story to life. So, there is already plenty of fanfare around his iconic story. In line with this, Brie believes her film will attract a wide range of audiences. Whether you are an older fan who grew up watching shows or are a new fan, it will satisfy you.
In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Brie said:
"I did Masters of the Universe, and I really feel like I shouldn't say too much about that either. But I do think that is really fun, and I think it's going to serve both the nostalgic audience that loved He-Man when they were kids and a new generation of He-Man fans."
Brie's comments reveal that the reboot will be a nostalgic ride, but will be "really fun" to appeal to almost everyone.
Allison Brie speaks about Evil-Lyn and catching up with the lore

After Mattel's action figures arrived in the market, He-Man became a part of animated show adaptations. That is why Masters of the Universe was a crucial part of many people's growing up.
Allison Brie may be one of these people, according to her comments in her conversation with The Hollywood Reporter in October 2024. Here's what she said:
“I definitely remember [He-Man and the Masters of the Universe] being on, and I went back and started watching it again. It’s much funnier than I remember. Evil-Lyn and Skeletor have a contentious relationship.”
In the same interview, the Community star also spoke about what drew him to her character and why she enjoyed playing this iconic villain:
“Actors always say that villains have the most fun, and that’s probably true. I’ve played morally compromised people, but not a truly deliciously sinister evil villain. I’ve been trying to manifest playing a villain in a superhero movie, and [this is] answering that call for me.”
The movie will show Brie starring opposite Nicholas Galitzine (The Idea of You, Red, White & Royal Blue) as He-Man. Speaking about him and Chris Butler's new script, she said:
“I read the script and I think it’s really clever. It has a really great take on He-Man, and Nick Galitzine is really talented. Those are the reasons I said yes [to star in the project].”
What else do we know about the Masters of the Universe reboot?
