The latest animation sequel, Zootopia 2, has set the box office on fire in less than just two weeks of its release. Released on November 26, 2025, the film has collected a total of $915,774,037 globally, as recorded by The Numbers.
Helmed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, it explores yet another chaotic and fun-filled journey of the detective duo Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. It looks into a complicated case that they solve together when an enigmatic pit viper creates havoc in the world around them.

An analysis of the box office performance of Zootopia 2
Zootopia 2, upon its release, garnered an impressive box office collection. According to The Numbers, the film has collected up to $220,474,037 domestically so far. Internationally, the comedy flick has made $695,300,000. So, in total, the worldwide collection hits the $900 million mark.
The film is now expected to reach the 1 billion mark by the upcoming week, as per Deadline. Looking at its commercial performance, the number is not too far from reaching this milestone. The outlet also reports that this year, the film secured a third position in the list of Hollywood releases.
Also, this year seems to be a good one for Walt Disney Studios. In 2025, the studio has collected up to $5.102 billion - a feat that no other studio has achieved this year.
In its opening week, the film collected a worldwide collection of $556 million, according to Fortune. The timing of its release also lands perfectly during Thanksgiving. During the five-day holiday period, the film garnered a domestic collection of $156 million.
As reported by Animation Magazine, the film was produced on a budget of $150 million. Looking at the current numbers, Zootopia 2 has done incredibly well, as it made six times its budget. In an interview with the outlet, co-director Jared Bush explains how the complexity level is taken several notches higher this time from its predecessor film, as he says:
“The movie is absolutely enormous. It’s the biggest movie we’ve ever done in the history of Disney animation, which is saying something. The first movie was complex and layered and immersive, and this one is even more so. Everyone has just stepped it up. The artistry is mind-boggling.”
