A close friend of Kelley Wolf has spoken out, saying she noticed warning signs “for weeks” before law enforcement took her to a hospital. The friend, who asked to remain anonymous, placed a 911 call from the Sundance Resort in Utah when she became alarmed by Kelley Wolf’s behavior.
She says her efforts to reach Kelley began well before June 13, the day deputies responded to reports of “concerning comments” and transported Wolf for a mental health evaluation.

A friend began seeing small changes in behavior
According to the friend, Kelley Wolf had stopped answering texts and missed phone calls she normally returned right away. She also skipped plans with close family and wrote messages that hinted at feeling “overwhelmed” and “isolated.” Each sign seemed minor in isolation, but together they painted a troubling picture.
“It wasn’t dramatic at first, just little things that added up,” the friend recalled.
Attempts to offer help were met with silence at times
Over several weeks, the friend tried repeatedly to check in with Kelley Wolf. She called and texted, offering to meet with her or help her find a therapist, but sometimes received no reply.
“There were days she seemed okay and thanked me, then other times I heard nothing,” she said.
The friend believes that if Kelley had agreed to seek help sooner, the serious incident on June 13 might have been prevented if she had sought help earlier.
Previous calls for help had come from their home
Records show that, in the month before June 13, at least two other 911 calls were placed from Kelley Wolf and her family’s residence over concerns about her well-being. Those calls did not lead to a hospital stay, but they underline how worried people close to her had become.
“We all thought she was just going through a rough patch,” the friend said. “None of us expected it to get this severe.”
Deputies were called after a disturbance at a resort
On June 13, security at Sundance Resort observed Kelley Wolf acting in a way that raised concern. Witnesses say she made loud, emotional comments, and at one point, lay on the ground and refused to move.
Resort staff asked Utah County deputies to conduct a wellness check. Police then handcuffed Kelley following department policy on transporting someone for their safety and took her to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

Mental health professional stresses early action
Dr. Sanjay Patel, an independent, licensed psychologist not affiliated with Kelley Wolf, says friends can often sense when something is wrong before the realization of a full crisis. He states that any sleeping patterns, hunger, temperament and social behavior modifications can be an indication of underlying problems.
“If you notice someone withdrawing or acting out of character, a calm conversation and an offer to help find support can make a big difference,” Dr. Patel advised.
Early intervention can prevent situations from escalating.

A friend hopes Kelley Wolf’s story helps others act sooner
The friend chose to speak now, after Kelley was already receiving care, because she did not want to breach her privacy during a vulnerable time.
“I stayed quiet until I knew she was getting help,” she said.
By sharing her experience, she hopes other loved ones will listen to those small warning signs and encourage their friends to seek support before things reach a breaking point.
Focus remains on recovery and privacy
At present, Kelley Wolf is off the radar, and no coordinated statement has been issued by her or her family. According to her people, she is surrounded by love and is being treated to take care of her mental health issues.
Even though the whole story of the events that caused her hospitalization might stay a personal thing, the testimony of her friend serves as a reminder that a prompt caring act can make a world of difference to someone before it is too late and the disease must run its course.
