The wait is over! It's finally "showtime" as Warner Bros. Pictures reveals the official trailer for Mortal Kombat 2. Before getting into the specifics, here's the brand-new clip for your reference:
The Mortal Kombat 2 trailer is high on thrills, blood, and fury as it introduces the next chapter in the lives of its merciless fighters. It's a sequel to the 2021 film, Mortal Kombat, which brought Ed Boon and John Tobias' iconic game by the same name to life.
The upcoming sequel is directed by Simon McQuoid with a script by the Moon Knight scribe Jeremy Slater.
Here's the official plot synopsis for the sequel:
"From New Line Cinema comes the latest high-stakes installment in the blockbuster video game franchise in all its brutal glory, Mortal Kombat II. This time, the fan favorite champions—now joined by Johnny Cage himself—are pitted against one another in the ultimate, no-holds-barred, gory battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders."
The Boys star Karl Urban chews the scenery in the official trailer as the beloved fighter Johnny Cage, who must enter the fight to prove that he is no less than the other fighters.
The Mortal Kombat 2 trailer offers a glimpse into how Johnny Cage joins other fighters in their war for justice and survival. He needs a little convincing to do in the trailer before he joins the other fighters in an ultimate face-off.
