Leslie Knope and April Ludgate would never, but Amy Poehler and Aubrey Plaza sure did. The Parks and Recreation alums reunited on Saturday Night Live for a wild and raunchy satirical parody of The Hunting Wives that pushed the boundaries of primetime comedy.

In the Oct. 11 SNL episode, the narrator described the pre-recorded spoof as a "straight but lesbian, horny Republican murder drama." The send-up trailer starts with Chloe Fineman, who parodies as Brittany Snow's character Sophie O'Neil, returning from prison.

Then, Amy Poehler, who emerges as Malin Akerman's Margo Banks, tugs down her dress and dramatically says:

"Well, look what the cat dragged in."

The next several clips turned hilariously chaotic, with rehashed clips that matched the satirical spirit, as well as fake reviews from various news outlets, including People, The Washington Post, and others.

Before the Season 2 trailer ends, a "new girl" gets introduced by the over-the-top narrator. In comes Aubrey Plaza in a burnt orange terno suit. She stands before the spoof cast members who are lounging on the porch, each with a cocktail in hand. Plaza tells them:

"Hey ladies. I’m new here, I just moved from California."

Poehler offers her a drink, but Plaza says she has never made mimosas before. That's when Fineman steps in and teaches her to make the drink, albeit seductively. The others join in, and they huddle closely together with exaggeratedly serious expressions.

Fineman asks Plaza:

"So, new girl, do you have a nice California boyfriend?"

When Aubrey Plaza responds that she has a girlfriend, the odd friend group all shout, "Lesbian!" and point their shotguns at Plaza.

The trailer concludes with the narrator advising viewers not to watch the show on the plane.

Aubrey Plaza's annual Holiday ritual of "stealing" children's Christmas presents is equal parts weird and wonderful

Aubrey Plaza's surprise SNL appearance comes after she dropped by The Drew Barrymore Show to talk about her latest children's book, Luna and the Witch Throw a Halloween Party, which she co-authored with Dan Murphy.

During the show's Oct. 10 episode, Aubrey Plaza revealed her bizarre Christmas tradition:

"I do a thing where, on Christmas morning, I dress up like the Christmas witch, which is my other book series."

She went on:

"Basically, I have my friends sign up for slots on Christmas morning if they have kids, and I show up when they're opening their presents around 7:30 in the morning, and then I try to steal their presents, and so it adds this element of, you know, fright on Christmas morning, which kids love."

Sparking laughter in the studio, Plaza added:

"They always fight back."
