The annual Soccer Aid match happened on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in front of a sold-out crowd at Old Trafford. Over 70,000 spectators were present at the home of Manchester United to witness some of the club’s legends alongside notable former footballers and celebrities.
The contest between England XI and World XI remained an exciting fixture, with the former dominating until the 58-minute mark with a 3-0 lead. The away team scored its first goal more than 13 minutes into the second half and eventually tied the scoreline to 4-4 by the 72nd minute, with Carlos Teves scoring his fourth goal. Eventually, Big Zuu scored his first-ever Soccer Aid goal to earn the lead for England XI, with the clock nearing the 84th minute.
This year’s Soccer Aid match also saw Jermain Defoe making another appearance and becoming the top scorer in the charity event’s history. The 2025 Soccer Aid match also saw Bella Ramsey, James Nelson-Joyce, Richard Gadd, Gorka Márquez, and more making their debut.
