The 76-year-old French actor did not attend the hearing on May 13, 2025. It was a four-day-long trial, and after Gérard Depardieu denied the accusations and understanding of the concept of "s*xual assault," the prosecutor proceeded to request that the judge fine the actor €20,000, including an 18-month suspended prison sentence.

During the trial, the victims came forth to testify against Depardieu and said that he would use crude and salacious language towards them and physically touch them without their consent.

One of the victims recounted her encounter with the actor and expressed:

"He scared me — he looked like a madman."

This is not the first time the "French movie giant" has been accused of s*xual assault. He will be on trial again later this year on the alleged charges of r*ping Shalotte Arnault, a fellow actress, whose parents are friends with Gérard Depardieu. According to Arnault, the incident happened at Gérard's Paris estate.

To sum it up, Gérard Depardieu was accused of s*xually harassing up to 13 women. Many of them reported that the actor became aggressive if they did not comply with his demands. The first accusations of violence against the actor came from late Emmanuelle Debever back in 1983, when they were filming Danton. Debever sadly passed away on December 14, 2023, after drowning in the Seine.

The consequences of his acts resulted in the Belgian municipality taking away his citizenship, followed by the Canadian province of Quebec. The latter stripped him of his award because of the comments he made about women. Lastly, the Paris museum took down his wax figure after the allegations of s*xual assault, as reported by Babel on May 13.

Gérard Depardieu, the giant of French cinema, came tumbling down from his pedestal after he was found guilty of s*xually assaulting two women in 2021. The actor will have to face another trial in the future regarding allegations of r*pe.
