Actress Sophie Turner, known for her role in Game of Thrones, was a guest on the Late Night with Seth Meyers show on August 15. The host said they met before in San Diego, when he was on a Game of Thrones comic con panel.

Turner said there was an after-party following the panel, which turned out to be crazy for her. She said she was with her best friend, who noticed that an actor she liked was at the party. Turner’s best friend wanted her to greet him. Although she did not know the actor personally, she raised her hand and waved at him.

After that, she noticed that a girl, a famous actress, was staring at her. She walked towards her to initiate a conversation. However, to her surprise, the actress asked Sophie Turner to stop flirting with her fiancé. She asked about her fiancé, and it turned out to be the same guy she waved at. She told Seth Meyers:

“And I have no idea who this man is. And then turns out, I think they like broke their engagement off that night.”

She joked:

“I didn’t realize I held this power.”

Seth Meyers suggested that Sophie Turner should have told her best friend that this happened because they asked her to wave at people.

Sophie Turner on her daughters’ birthdays and upcoming film

Seth Meyers asked Sophie Turner about her daughters’ birthdays. She explained that they were only 18 days apart. Since the kids were still young, she celebrated both birthdays together in one party, even though they knew they had different birthdays.

Seth joked about how long she could keep doing that, and she said she would continue as long as possible because separate parties would be too costly. She said her daughters were young and had fights with each other. The host mentioned:

“Well, they must like each other if they're willing to, like, share a birthday party.”

Turner said:

“Yeah, I think so.”

Speaking about her upcoming film, Trust, Sophie Turner said that when filming began, she was going through a tough time in the media. Acting in the film felt like a release for her because she got to escape through the role and even smash things, which she enjoyed.

She explained that the preparation was intense since she trained in freediving with professionals, spending hours in a pool practicing holding her breath and diving deep. When Seth Meyers asked how long she trained before shooting, she guessed about a month and a half.

However, she said once filming started, she realized the set water was only waist-deep, making her wonder why she had gone through all that training. The crew told her that if she ever panicked, she could just stand up.

Seth Meyers asked Sophie Turner how bad she was at holding her breath when she first started training and how much she improved. She said she wasn’t sure about the exact time, but by the end of her training, she thought she could hold it for about three minutes.
