“There’s this crazy thing called shared custody”: Sophie Turner responds to parenting criticism with sharp Instagram reply

Sophie Turner isn’t here for parenting criticism, especially on her own Instagram.

On Aug. 4, the Game of Thrones alum, 29, posted a carousel of photos from an Oasis concert. She wore a bucket hat and a pale blue shirt, paying homage to Liam Gallagher's signature style. In one of the photos, Sophie Turner is seen kissing a framed picture of the frontman.

While most followers were thrilled to see her out having fun, one commenter wrote:

“Lmfao, I think she has forgotten that she has two kids.”

Sophie Turner, who shares daughters Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2, with ex-husband Joe Jonas, didn’t hold back.

“Ah I’m so sorry sometimes I forget some people can’t think for themselves."

She followed it up with:

“So… Get this… There’s this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day.”

Many fans praised the Do Revenge star for her quick and sharp response. Some also jumped in the replies to defend her from the troll.

"Loud opinions from people who never mattered، classic noise," one wrote.

"PLEASE go out, have friends, have fun and make connections cos that mysterious lifestyle won’t save you," another commented.

"Queen of The North and The Comebacks [clapping emojis]," a fan said.

Meanwhile, it’s not the first time Sophie Turner has faced public scrutiny. When she and Jonas split in September 2023, rumors painted her as a “partier.”

The actress said it was the "worst few days of my life," recalling:

“I remember I was on set, I was contracted to be on set for another two weeks, so I couldn’t leave. My kids were in the States and I couldn’t get to them because I had to finish Joan. And all these articles started coming out…”

She went on:

“It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother – mum guilt is so real! I just kept having to say to myself, ‘None of this is true. You are a good mum and you’ve never been a partier.’”

Sophie Turner also opened up about the time the "wayward mother" rumors began swirling, post-divorce from Joe Jonas.

“It’s unfathomable the amount of people that will just make s**t up and put it up based on a picture. A picture might tell a thousand words, but it’s not my story."

The Time Freak actress added:

"It felt like I was watching a movie of my life that I hadn’t written, hadn’t produced, or starred in. It was shocking. I’m still in shock.”

Despite a rocky start to their divorce, Turner and Jonas now co-parent peacefully. Jonas even praised her on the On Purpose podcast in May, saying:

“Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true. As young girls, looking up to great women is what I want for them.”
