Macaulay Culkin, who played the beloved character of Kevin McCallister in the first two Home Alone films, recently opened up about his future plans to star in a sequel of the iconic film franchise. According to Variety, Culkin appeared at the special event titled A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin, held at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California, where he explained that he would be open to the idea of appearing in the future Home Alone movies if the concept is executed properly. He said:

“I wouldn’t be completely allergic to it. It would have to be just right I’m either a widower or a divorcee."

The first Home Alone movie celebrated thirty-five years of its theatrical release earlier this month. The film, which was released on November 16, 1990, went on to become a classic Christmas movie, one that continues enchant millions of people even today.

In his recent appearance on the special broadcast of A Nostalgic Night Live with Macaulay Culkin, which took place last week on Saturday, November 22, the Golden Globe-nominated actor further explained how he could play a widower or divorcee raising his child by himself. He said:

“I kind of had this idea. I'm working really hard and I'm not really paying enough attention and the kid is kind of getting miffed at me and then I get locked out.”

He further added:

“[My son] won't let me in. He’s the one setting traps for me. The house is some sort of metaphor for our relationship [and I] get let back into his heart’ kind of deal. That's the closest elevator pitch that I have. I’m not completely allergic to it, the right thing.”

"The Good Son" actor also opened about his 2019 decision to change his middle name from Carson to his actual full name after a public vote prompted him to go ahead with the change. He said:

"My name is Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin. The final vote was Macaulay Culkin. So my name is Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin. If somebody comes up to me at the airport and says, 'Excuse me, are you Macaulay Culkin?' I can say, 'Well, Macaulay Culkin is my middle name."

Culkin is currently on the A Nostalgic Night Live with Macaulay Culkin tour, which includes a screening of the much-loved movie followed by a Q/A session. The tour's next stop is Austin, followed by Grand Prairie, and will conclude in Brooklyn next month on December 12.
