“I want to be a supermodel” — Naomi Watts’s daughter Kai Schreiber opens up about struggling with gender identity

As per a recent article by Entertainment News, Kai Schreiber-- daughter of Naomi Watts and Liv Schreiber recently opened up about struggling with her gender identity.

16-year-old Kai Schreiber opened up to Interview Magazine in an interview on June 11. Schreiber revealed that she wanted to become a supermodel, and her struggle with her sexuality from a young age helped her figure out what profession she wanted to choose.

“Struggling with gender identity from a young age most likely had something to do with it. I always wanted to grow up and be a beautiful, glamorous, influential woman, like Marilyn [Monroe].” Schreiber told Interview Magazine on June 11.

Schrieber revealed that she used to practice her model walk in the kitchen.

“I want to be a supermodel. Period. I’ve been practicing my walks in the kitchen for years; my mom can show you all the videos I forced her to film.” continued Schrieber.

Kai Schreiber further noted how other transgender models like Alex Consani and Hunter Schafer, especially during today's day and age, when the community is 'under such a hostile attack'.

“As a young trans girl, I’m always going to look up to the older generation of transgender people, especially in fashion. It’s so great that there’s a strong community of us in the fashion world; it’s really a doll takeover.”

Kai Schreiber's mother, Naomi Watts, and father, Liev Schreiber, are often seen supporting their daughter on various platforms as she is criticized for being a 'nepo baby.'

On being asked about her first job, Kai Schreiber said that her first job was at a small boutique in Montauk, though she had also worked in a Valentino campaign shot in February this year.

The budding model also shared that while she is into fashion from a young age, Schreiber was never a bright student and was average in academics. However, she loved writing and has been writing stories from a young age.

"I’ve never been the A+ student, but I’ve always loved to write. Like, literally since I was a toddler. I was creepy as hell, seriously—ask my parents. I’m sure they have a bunch of old murder stories I wrote when I was eight." Schreiber told Interview Magazine

Further sharing that she has a minimal skincare routine, and she had finally managed to quit her habit of getting every skincare product that gets viral on TikTok, Kai Schreiber described the movie Black Swan as her favorite watch. Schriber also named The Devil Wears Prada as one of her favorite movies when it comes to fashion.
