Rapper 50 Cent shared his thoughts about President Trump’s statement about Sean Diddy Combs. The root of this story dates back to a recent press conference where President Trump was asked if he ever considered pardoning the hip-hop mogul. Trump replied:
“Nobody’s asked but I know people are thinking about it. I know they are thinking about it. I think people have been very close to asking, first of all I would look at what's happening and I haven't been watching it too closely although it's certainly getting a lot of coverage.”
He added:
“I would certainly look at the facts if I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don't like me. It wouldn't have any impact on me.”
A story by Daily Beast claimed that 50 Cent attempted to “nuke” Diddy’s chances of pardon. The rapper reshared a screengrab of the headline on June 1, 2025, disagreeing with the claim as he wrote:
“I didn’t say I would Nuke anything, I simply said I will make sure Trump is aware.”
In a now-deleted Instagram post, 50 Cent posted a video of the President’s remarks and said that Combs had spoken negatively about Trump. He added that he planned to contact Trump to express his opinion about Diddy.
Later, 50 Cent pointed out that Combs’ past remarks about Trump might hurt his chances of receiving a pardon. He mentioned that Trump didn’t respond well to being disrespected and tended to remember those who opposed him.
What happened between 50 Cent and Diddy?
Diddy and 50 Cent share a history that goes back to 2006. The Like My Style rapper released a diss track called The Bomb, accusing Combs of knowing Biggie Smalls’ death, which the hip-hop mogul had denied.
During the recent trial, a witness brought up Cent. Capricorn Clark, who once worked for Combs, testified that she overheard the hip-hop mogul talking about guns with 50 Cent’s manager, Chris Lighty, in an elevator after an MTV event. She recalled Combs telling Lighty he preferred firearms over arguments.
Meanwhile, Suge Knight, former head of Death Row Records, argued that he believed Diddy would be shown leniency if convicted. Knight suggested Combs had ties to the government and even claimed that a pardon from Trump was likely.
In a 2015 interview with The Washington Post, the interviewer brought up Empire and mentioned rumors that Combs had been critical of the show. In response, Combs said he loved Empire and considered it one of his favorite series.
He appreciated how the show portrayed the business world and showed that people from different backgrounds could also build powerful empires. He felt it challenged the idea that someone like Donald Trump should be the only example of what an American mogul looked like.
The interviewer pointed out that Donald Trump had inherited a large amount of money, even though he later earned more. Diddy responded by clarifying that he didn’t mean anything negative. He considered Trump a friend and believed he had put in a lot of hard work.
