Rachel Reid on Parkinson's disease

During a recent interview with Variety, Reid shared that the success of her romance series Game Changers has helped her with her Parkinson's disease.

Due to its popularity, HBO Max's hit show Heated Rivalry was granted a second season on December 12.

In an interview with Variety that was published on December 30, Rachel stated, "One incredible outcome of this is that [show creator] Jacob [Tierney] was on CNN a few weeks ago. The interviewer asked him about my Parkinson's diagnosis for some reason."
"I thought it was kind of odd, but then the next day, one of the top Parkinson's experts in the world reached out to me and asked if he could help me," the 45-year-old continued.

Rachel was particularly taken aback by the outreach because she has "never gotten to talk to a Parkinson's expert." She further explained that the help she needed came at the right time.

“It’s making it hard to write because I can barely control a mouse", said Rachel."I can’t type for very long. It’s hard for me to sit in a chair for very long. I need to figure out new ways to write. I don’t know if that will be voice to text. I don’t know if I can write that way. It doesn’t feel natural, but I need to figure out something because it is taking me a very long time to write now.”

Rachel stated that she is "not really getting the treatment that I should be getting," but she is hopeful that her newfound medical knowledge "could change things" for her. She shared that due to her disease made it difficult to even hold a mouse or sit for longer hours. She further briefed that she had to find out new ways of writing.

Rachel added, “I need to figure out new ways to write. I don’t know if that will be voice to text. I don’t know if I can write that way. It doesn’t feel natural, but I need to figure out something because it is taking me a very long time to write now.”

Rachel Reid further said that her new medication has helped her improve her sleep cycle which indeed has helped with her writing.
