Robert Redford's daughter, Amy, has addressed AI fabrications of her father's "funeral, tributes, and quotes" following his passing on September 16, 2025. The Roost movie filmmaker took to her Instagram on November 20 and released a statement following her father's passing.

She thanked fans and followers for the "overwhelming love and support." She added,

"It’s clear that he meant so much to so many, and I know that my family is humbled by the outpouring of stories and tributes from all corners of the globe.”

She also explained that she is on a "social media learning curve" and doesn't instinctively post on it. However, apart from appreciating her father's fans' messages, she noticed an unsettling trend. She wrote,

"There have been multiple AI versions of funerals, tributes, and quotes from members of my family that are fabrications. Renderings of my Dad, who clearly has no say, and depictions of my family that do not represent anyone in a positive light are extra challenging during a difficult time.”

Describing the collective grief the family is experiencing, Amy penned a note to social media users and wrote,

"I simply ask, what if this was you? Let that be your guidepost. Let human authenticity live, inspire and be the connective tissue we all crave.”

Actor and director Robert Redford's daughter, Amy, has broken the silence following her father's passing. While the filmmaker expressed gratitude towards her father's fans and followers, she took a stance against misinformation being spread using AI. Before asking to empathise with the grieving family's experiences, Amy also wrote that she doesn't see the use of AI as black and white. She wrote,

"AI isn't going anywhere. My hope is to keep AI in the land of transparent usage where it belongs. There are many elements that were created with good intent."

She also clarified the family's decision about Robert Redford's funeral service. She noted,

"We have not had a public funeral, we are working out our plans for a memorial in the future. Every family should have the ability to mourn, represent the person they lost, and pay homage in a way that fits their values and family culture best."

Robert Redford's daughter, Amy, took to her social media to express gratitude towards the overwhelming support and love she and her family have received since her father's passing. However, she asserted against the use of artificial intelligence to spread misinformation about the Oscar-winning actor or news about his funeral.
