On September 3, TMZ published a report stating that Charlie Sheen made huge donations to charities when he was doing well financially. Sources told the outlet that this was when he was working on Two and a Half Men. The donation amount ranged between $26 to $30 million and aided in cancer research work, homeless people, and one organisation, Autism Speaks.
However, as per the sources, Charlie Sheen donated anonymously as he didn't want to get any fame out of it. As of July 2025, the actor’s net worth is $3 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth quotes. The outlet notes that he had a $150 million net worth when his career was at its peak.
Charlie Sheen earned $250 thousand from Scary Movie 5, and while working on Two and a Half Men, he made $1.25 million every episode. This eventually became approximately $2 million towards the later seasons.
Sheen bought a house in Beverly Hills for $7.2 million in 2006. However, 16 years later, he put it up for sale for $10 million and eventually got $6.6 million as the selling price in 2020. In 2011, the actor bought another mansion in the same area for $7 million, which was sold for $6.6 million in 2015. He spent $4.8 million and bought a Mulholland Estates home, which was sold for $5.4 million in 2016.
Charlie Sheen on turning 60 and his upcoming documentary
On September 10, Netflix will release a new documentary, aka Charlie Sheen, which will explore the actor’s life and career. During an interview with Kevin Frazier from Entertainment Tonight on September 5, he was asked how he felt despite his past struggles. Sheen replied:
“I feel pretty good.”
Kevin said that it could be scarier for someone who turned 60 but still felt younger at heart. The actor commented:
“I know but I think I am only a day into it but I think the leadup to 60 versus just like the kapow moment of it's here, I think the leadup is worse.”
He continued:
“The stories we write about, you know what I'm saying? Is that the night I die in my sleep? or is that the night my you know I'm going to start walking differently or thinking differently? No, none of that came true.”
Charlie Sheen explained that he and Andrew Renzi spent a year preparing the documentary by looking through archives and history, then choosing stories that best showed key moments from each decade.
Since Sheen had just turned 60, he said it felt right to look back in this way. He added that the project wasn’t about getting the last word or making jokes but about telling the story honestly, leaving the past behind, and focusing on the future.
The actor believed the documentary answered many of the questions people might have about him. Charlie Sheen said working with his ex-wives and kids on the documentary was like an extended family affair.
