Kristin Cavallari, 38, recently reflected on past relationships with her Laguna Beach co-stars.

Kristin Cavallari and Lo Bosworth had a complex relationship. In several interviews, they cited the influence of production dynamics creating a gap among the young women appearing on MTV's Laguna Beach and its spinoff, The Hills.

During a candid conversation in the first episode of her reality show, Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour, which premiered on June 4, she opened up about her feuds with Lauren Conrad and Lo Bosworth, and hating the latter more.

While chatting and playing a drinking game with Kim Zolciak-Biermann, Kristin Cavallari responded to her question, as Us Weekly reported. Kim asked:

"If you had to spend the night in prison with Lauren Conrad or Lo Bosworth, who would you pick?"

Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) alumn Kristin did not really reply initially. She simply took a shot and drank orange juice, and remarked,

"Oh, my God, I hate you guys."

Although she did not utter anything on her feud with her co-stars, she finally responded to the much-anticipated question. During a meet and greet session with her fans, she was asked to choose,

"So, is it Lauren or is it Lo?"

Without giving it a lot of thought, Kristin Cavallari candidly answered, with a huge laugh,

"I hate Lo more if you can believe it or not."

On June 4, the reality star chatted with Us Weekly and clarified that her responses targeting Lo were not as serious as they seemed.

She continued:

"I mean, I’m going to play that game. I’ll answer that question. You know what I mean? I think everyone sort of knows my history with Lo and the whole Birken bag drama, so I don’t think that’s any shock to people who really understand the history."

Even after making unexpected statements in the past, she noted,

"I have zero beef with Lo. That doesn’t even cross my mind. You know what I mean? But I’ll play the game and answer the question for fun."

Kristin Cavallari and Lo Bosworth's 'feud' explored

Gossip columns claimed that Lo started the rumor that Cavallari was on drugs. However, Cavallari has publicly blamed The Hills producer Adam DiVello for orchestrating a false narrative about her alleged drug use.

In a 2022 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, she accused the producer, saying,

"He bribed the girls to call me out on camera for doing drugs with a purse. That was difficult and Adam and I got in a huge fight about it."

As reported by Business Insider, she also remarked,

"I would be on camera filming like I know it was Adam, just running my mouth."

She also claimed that their producer planted fabricated incidents to indicate that Kristin was on "drugs and was out of control."

The DWTS alum looked back on her experience of appearing on Laguna Beach during a conversation with Bustle in July 2024 that People cited. She said:

"I think I walked away from Laguna Beach thinking that I was the only one MTV messed with and I got the s*** end of the deal, and I took everything so personally. They f*** with everybody the same way they f**** with me. We were very young to have our lives manipulated like that."

Expressing her gratitude for the show, Kristin Cavallari added,

"I'm not complaining about it. I’m so thankful for the show. I think it can be both things — I can feel like we were taken advantage of, and I can also be thankful for it."

Cavallari also highlighted that the show's producers often placed cast members in situations that triggered unnecessary tensions. In her book Balancing in Heels, she revealed producers' tricks to manipulate plots for the show.

She explained:

"One of the most hurtful things they did was pressure Stephen to spend time with another girl from the show [Lauren Conrad] while he and I were dating. It certainly provided some juicy conflicts, but it also affected me deeply, I felt threatened. Because of this, I did the only thing I knew how to do: Put up a wall."

Lo Bosworth also shared similar insights while delving into her relationship with Kristin and other women. In an April 2024 episode of the Just B With Bethenny Frankel podcast, she said,

"We were very young women constantly put into compromised situations where we had to blood sport it out against each other to get through a day of production."

Kristin's disputes with Lauren were also a much-talked-about affair back in the day. It was quite evident that their bond was getting affected after they reportedly began liking the same guy, Stephen Colletti.

As Us Weekly reported, Cavallari dated him during their high school years. The show raised its ratings by focusing on the surprising love triangle between Stephen, Kristin, and Lo.

Years later, in 2022, Conrad gave a reality check on the Back to the Beach podcast, sharing,

"I mean, I don’t think we were, like, best friends. But we were like, ‘It’s fine."

Cavallari added,

"My take on it is, you and I never really had any beef. Really. I mean, obviously there was, like, a little truth to what happened with the three of us. But I felt like MTV coming kept it alive and made it way worse than it ever would have been."
