Kevin Earl Federline, popularly known as K-Fed, is a former dancer, actor, and producer who gained fame for his marriage to pop sensation Britney Spears.
Federline released an album titled Playing With Fire, which garnered bad reviews as per reports from Album of The Year. After that, he had made appearances in reality shows like WWE Raw and Celebrity Fight Club while working as a DJ. Recently, Federline released his new memoir on October 21.
Kevin Federline releases his memoir
As per a recent article by US Weekly, Kevin Federline gave details about rejecting jobs in the show business, including an offer by Dancing With The Stars.
The former actor and dancer claimed in his new memoir, You Thought You Knew, that he had received offers from reality television shows after his appearance on Celebrity Fight Club in 2010.
“They even floated my name as a potential host for Dancing With The Stars when the show first started, but I turned it down.” wrote Federline in his memoir.
Federline explained that he had no idea that the dance reality show was a big hit and had such a mass appeal.
"In hindsight, I missed an opportunity there, but I’ve never been one to chase fame for fame’s sake” he continued
In 2012, Federline made an appearance on the brief reality weight reduction series Excess Baggage in addition to his time on Celebrity Fit Club.
Kevin Federline mentioned that he was offered a tell-all interview that paid him 'massive amounts of money' but he declined it to protect the people closest to him, including his ex-wife, Britney Spears. He then mentioned that reality shows are not that bad, and he could have gone for the offer.
’We're talking six-figure deals that I was turning down for the sake of Britney and my family.” Said Federline.
"It gave me a chance to prioritize my health, and the paycheck was hard to argue with. But it also opened my eyes to how manipulative the medium could be. The manufactured drama, the constant pressure to ‘turn it on’ for the cameras, it just wasn’t me. The experience left me wary of the industry just when reality TV was dominating pop culture.” Federline said in his memoir.
What Kevin Federline's book says about Britney Spears
Federline has been in the headlines for making various claims in his memoir against his ex-wife, Britney Spears. Federline and Spears were married Spears between 2004 and 2007. They share two sons: Jayden James and Sean Preston.
As per an October 21 BBC article, Kevin Federline accused Britney Spears of having behavioural issues. He accused Spears of holding a knife while watching their two sons sleep. Britney Spears also replied to his accusations recently and called his 'constant gaslighting about her parenting...extremely hurtful and exhausting'. A spokesperson for Spears accuses Federline of making money off Spears' name.
While Spears was married to Federline, she shaved her head and was hospitalized for some time. She was then placed in a court-ordered conservatorship with her father being named as the conservator.
