Devin Harjes passed away last week in New York City, an obituary on his official website revealed.

The actor was 41 when he passed away on May 27, 2025, due to complications from cancer, according to NBC News. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Harjes was diagnosed with cancer in February and died at NYC’s Mount Sinai West Hospital on Tuesday. A representative of the late actor stated (via NBC News),

“He was an artist of great conviction who never gave less than one hundred percent to any role he undertook. As a person, he was generous, kind, understanding and devoted to his family and friends, a great horseback rider and had a magic way with all animals.”

Devin Harjes was known for his guest roles on multiple TV shows, including Marvel's Daredevil (originally dropped on Netflix). He portrayed Oscar in Season 1 Episode 3, titled “Rabbit in a Snowstorm.” The character portrayed by Harjes blackmails a female jury member, which is discovered by Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox).

During a hearing, Murdock notices the fastened heartbeat of one of the jury members when James Wesley (played by Toby Leonard Moore) makes an appearance in the court. Later that day, Matt, disguised as a masked vigilante, finds Oscar threatening the juror and confronts him. After a physical altercation, Daredevil questions him about his boss, but to no avail.

After Rabbit in a Snowstorm, Oscar didn’t appear again in the Marvel TV show or its Disney+ revival, Daredevil: Born Again. Devin Harjes acted in multiple projects after the MCU show. His last significant appearance was in Manifest as Pete Baylor.
