Greek actor Gerasimos Michelis passed away on July 15 at the age of 60. The actor's family reportedly announced the news on Facebook through the statement:

"This morning, our beloved Gerasimos left ‘for another light.’ We will inform all friends of his farewell."

Michelis was suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a neurological disorder that is believed to be the reason behind his death, as per Greek City Times.

The Parish of St. Nicholas Ragavas also released a statement after his passing:

"With deep sadness and with faith in the life-giving Resurrection, the Parish of St. Nicholas Ragavas announces the passing of our beloved brother, Gerasimos Michelis, actor, poet and devoted member of our parish"
