“No”: JoJo Siwa responds to her dating rumors with Chris Hughes

JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes's actions this past week made them the subject of dating rumours. The Dance Mums alum and Chris started to fuel these rumors during their time on Celebrity Big Brother UK, where they appeared to be intimately connected as they exchanged forehead kisses and warm cuddles.

Chris’ recent post on Instagram further fanned the flames as the 32-year-old Big Brother Alum shared images showcasing him and JoJo delivering some PDA. And if that wasn't enough to make a statement, Chris captioned the post:

“The previous 7 days have been the prettiest.”

However, JoJo Siwa has concisely denied the rumour of being in a relationship with Hughes. During a May 26 episode of ITV’s Lorraine, JoJo responded when it was suggested that she and Hughes were in a romantic relationship. The Guilty Pleasure hitmaker simply laughed and said, “No,” commenting on “how straight up people get nowadays.”

JoJo Siwa has officially denied being in a romantic relationship with Chris Hughes on television, despite later defending him when British presenter Andi Peters claimed Hughes was letting fans down. Siwa emphasized that although they have “had a lot of chats,” their relationship is strictly casual.

On April 26, 2025, JoJo Siwa’s Ex, Kath Ebs, whom the star had dated for months before making things official in January 2025, announced that the 22-year-old star had dumped her at the Celebrity Big Brother UK after-party. They seemingly named Chris Hughes the reason, stating that what viewers saw between the pair “was not fabricated.”

“I flew across the world to support and be there and hold that person in whatever they would be experiencing, leaving such a wild experience, and instead, I was dumped at the afterparty, with Chris Hughes in the next room,” they said.

“I was told that there are confused feelings there and that she had realized in the house that I wasn't the person that she wanted to spend the foreseeable future with, which has honestly been so shocking that I feel kind of subhuman right now. I feel incredibly humiliated and I feel a bit embarrassed,” Ebbs continued.

“In terms of Mr. Christopher, I don't know. I have opinions, but I'm not gonna say them now. In terms of their relationship, that's their journey, enjoy. I don't know what the future of this situation holds, but yeah. Pretty, pretty, pretty brutal,” they added at the end of the candid video.

Hughes commented on his relationship with the former Nickelodeon star during their time in the Big Brother UK celebrity version. He described JoJo as someone he could have fun with.

“From a friendship point of view, yeah, of course, I love her. Why would I not want to get on with people when I'm in a house?” Hughes asked.

“If I want to spend time with a person who makes me feel like I'm at home, makes me feel happy and forget that we're filming a TV show, we're having fun, I'll do that — because that's very normal. It was just a friendship, which is only going to get stronger,” he added.

JoJo Siwa has also said nice things about Hughes both in and out of the house, describing him as a “one-of-a-kind gentleman” who is “easy to love”, “Chris is the best man,” and “he’s my favorite person to talk about.”
