Predator: Badlands cast and character guide - Who plays whom in the latest sci-fi film?

The latest sci-fi film, Predator: Badlands, has a promising cast of actors in the lead, which includes Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi.

Helmed by Dan Trachtenberg, this film belongs to the iconic Predator film franchise. Marking the ninth installment of the franchise, this film explores the implausible bond that forms between a runt predator and a mutilated Wey-Yu Synth and how they together take down their enemy as well.

Its synopsis, as per Rotten Tomatoes, goes as follows:

"Predator: Badlands," which stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, is set in the future on a remote planet, where a young Predator (Schuster-Koloamatangi), outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.

Upon its release on 7th November 2025, the film was welcomed with praise. It garnered an RT score of 85% and a rating of 7.6/10 on IMDb as of this writing.

1) Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as Dek/Njohrr

Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi plays the role of Dek in the film. He is a predator who belongs to the Yautja Prime planet. His prime motive is to annihilate the indomitable apex predator Kalisk. In the process, Dek becomes friends with Elle Fanning's character, Thia.

As Schuster-Koloamatangi stepped into the shoes of Dek, he wore the costume of the predator which was constructed for him. CGI was also used to authentically depict the character. It was constructed in a way that enabled him to showcase his expressions seamlessly. In this film, he also plays the role of Njohrr, an apex predator who wants Dek to be killed.

Apart from this film, this actor from New Zealand is recognized for his work in Jonah, The Panthers and Red, White & Brass.

2) Elle Fanning as Thia/Tessa

American actor Elle Fanning portrays the role of Thia, a Weyland-Yutani android. She becomes disfigured when she and her group try to ensnare Kalisk. In the process, she comes across Dek and offers him a hand of support in his endeavors. Fanning also plays the role of Tessa, who is against Dek and Thia. She is also Thia's sister.
