Spider-Man: Brand New Day has added another actor to its cast: Tramell Tillman. For the uninitiated, he is known for playing the severed floor supervisor Seth Milchick in Severance. His casting announcement was revealed through a report in Variety on the afternoon of August 20, 2025. This announcement was met with enthusiasm as Tillman impressed everyone with the acclaimed Apple TV+ series.

As of now, we don't know what role Tillman is playing in the MCU, but given his popularity and pedigree, his Brand New Day character must be something important. With his addition, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has added another prestigious actor to its impressive and possibly ever-growing cast.

Speculations regarding Tillman's role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day:

As mentioned earlier, Variety clearly states that his role for now has been kept under wraps. But fans on the internet have come up with two distinct possibilities regarding his character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The two options are Norman Osborn and Jefferson Davis, Miles Morales' father. A lot of people point towards Tramell Tillman's role as Seth Milchick as a possible candidate for Norman.

As for the chances of him being Jefferson, it is slim because of Sony's Spider-Verse movies. At a July 2025 press conference, Marvel boss Kevin Feige was asked about the possibility of Miles Morales appearing in the MCU. There, Feige revealed that Sony, as of now, has told Marvel not to include Miles.

Here's the thing, though: 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming included Miles' uncle Aaron Davis/The Prowler, played by Donald Glover. A deleted scene even showed Aaron speaking with Miles over the phone. Moreover, a live-action version of Glover even appeared in the Prowler costume in 2023's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Therefore, Marvel can get around by introducing Jefferson Davis as Miles continues to remain off-screen. And, as Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse releases on June 25, 2027.

What do we know about Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

As of now, the movie is being filmed in the United Kingdom. Production started early this month, with the exterior shots being filmed in Glasgow. But the team wrapped up the Glasgow portion recently, and the rest of the movie is supposedly being filmed on the soundstages of a studio in the United Kingdom. As of now, we don't know who the antagonists of the movie are.

Considering Brand New Day is a follow-up to Spider-Man: No Way Home, it is expected that the movie will be darker than the previous three movies. This darker direction would make sense, as Peter is all alone. Aunt May was killed in the second act of No Way Home, and Doctor Strange's memory erasure spell has ensured that MJ and Ned have forgotten their relationships with Peter, too.

It is in this loneliness that Peter will meet Jon Benthal's Frank Castle, which may take him down a darker path. Kevin Feige teased Castle's role this way:

“So when you do that, you say, okay, who are the other street-level characters that we’ve never seen him interact with? And of course, I love that The Punisher started in a Spider-Man comic. That great cover... I don’t want to say too much, but Destin - I will say too much - Destin is doing an amazing job right now on that movie, which starts shooting very soon. And he’s got eight or nine comic covers up on his wall in his art department that he is bringing to life in this movie, which is super cool.”

The next theatrical release after The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will be released worldwide on July 31, 2026.
