Tammy Slaton shares a video on TikTok post cousin Katie’s death at 37 from cancer

Popular weight loss reality star Tammy Slaton has finally broken her silence days after the passing of her cousin, Katie Slaton. The 39-year-old online personality took to her official TikTok account to share a video.

In the video, Tammy Slaton is seen sitting in the driver’s seat of a car as she vibes to Kenny Loggins’ “Footloose” with her significant other, Andrea Dalton. At one point in the video, Tammy shares a laugh with Andrea and proceeds to tell the camera, “I look awful.”

Tammy looked happy, and her fans visited the comments section to wish her well.

Tammy Slaton’s cousin, Katie Slaton, passed away at 37

On August 26, 2025, Tammy Slaton’s sister, Amanda Halterman, took to her official Instagram to announce the death of their cousin Katie Slaton. According to the announcement, Katie died on August 25, 2025, after the latter was diagnosed with stage 4 gastric adenocarcinoma.

In the touching tribute shared on Instagram, Amanda described Katie Slaton as a force to be reckoned with, the life of the party, and her best friend.

“It I with a completely crushed heart and spirit that I have to post this. My little cousin went to sit at the feet of Jesus yesterday. She was a force to be reckoned with and showed love that was accepting and given freely. She was the life of the part and my best friend.”

She continued:

“I know both our grandparents and friends was there to welcome you home. Please pray for my aunt, uncle, and cousins, but mostly for the babies and for Natalie to be strong. Please pray for everyone whom loves her. Thank you all who has come out and supported her.”

In January, a GoFundMe was launched by Leonard Moore to support Katie’s battle with stage 4 cancer. The account was originally expected to raise $14,000, but was later increased to $100,000.

According to reports, Katie Slaton died at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. She was 37 years old. The deceased is survived by her partner, Natalie Barnie, and their three children, Landon, Liam, and Lily.
