The blue carpet was all set for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which just had its world premiere on July 21, 2025, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. The film is just around the corner, and it brings a new set of stars to play Marvel's First Family, who were present at the ceremony. To make it more special, some cast members of previous Fantastic Four movies were also in attendance.
Ioan Gruffudd was one of these stars, who was spotted at the film's blue carpet ceremony with his pregnant wife Bianca Wallace. He graced the ceremony with their presence after starring in two movies released in the aughts. The 2005 film, Fantastic Four, directed by Tim Story, introduced him as Mister Fantastic. Two years later, Gruffudd reprised the role in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
In 2015, Miles Teller took over the role of ultra-flexible Reed Richards in Josh Trank's Fantastic Four. A decade later, Pedro Pascal stars in this role in Matt Shakman's upcoming film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Who else attended the world premiere of The Fantastic Four: First Steps?
The thrilling new quartet comprising Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach was present for the blue carpet ceremony. They were joined by their co-stars, including Julia Garner, Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, Sarah Niles, and Ralph Ineson.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Julia Garner as the female Silver Surfer Shalla-Bal, Ralph Ineson as Galactus, and Sarah Niles as Lynne Nichols. Paul Walter Hauser will reportedly play Harvey Elder, also known as Mole Man. However, fans will learn who he plays in the film or Natasha Lyonne once they enter the cinema halls.
Vanessa Kirby enters as the family matriarch, Sue Storm (Invisible Woman). Joseph Quinn plays her brother, and a fellow superpowered hero, Johnny Storm (Human Torch). Ebon Moss-Bachrach joins them as Ben Grimm, who turns into The Thing, a mangled, ruptured, and gigantic hero with a big heart.
Director Matt Shakman also joined the cast, besides the MCU cast like Simu Liu, Dafne Keen Fernández, Regan Aliyah, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and more.
Per Deadline, the early reviews are in, and they look promising for the new retro-futuristic chapter of the MCU's Phase Six. In line with this, Marvel boss Kevin Feige, who was also present at the blue carpet ceremony, shared his thoughts on introducing this project as a reboot.
“Why Fantastic Four? Because it’s Marvel’s First Family. It’s in the history of our characters; they deserve to be A-listers. They were A-listers in the comics. Every crossover movie we’ve made in the Infinity saga, Civil War, leading to Infinity War and Endgame, which is really the Infinity saga from the comics, the Fantastic Four were huge players in those comics, and obviously we couldn’t do that then."
At the time, he also mentioned that viewers need not do any homework to enter the cinema halls to watch the film. So, it looks like audiences can enjoy it as an exciting standalone project.
The MCU fans can watch The Fantastic Four: First Steps in theaters from July 25 onwards.
