Joe Budden has cut his ties with Nicki Minaj after her appearance at Turning Point USA's America Fest. Budden talked about Minaj's appearance on the conservative platform's fest alongside Erika Kirk in an episode of the Joe Budden Network podcast, stating:

"Nicki Minaj. Turning Point USA. She went out there. By now you've seen it. I gotta bunch of phone calls about it. I'm out. I'm done. That was it. Sorry. I'm gone. I'm gone. That's it. The last dance. That was the last candle on the cake for me. Sorry. Sorry Barbz. Sorry Nick. Don't call me. Don't text me. It is what it is."

The podcaster continued:

"Sometimes how you all move around out there does have an effect on how I view you. And this was one of them things. I would be a fool to think that you didn't consider that before you did it. Which just says to me that you didn't give a f*ck. I am even more baffled. I don't even know how much of this conversation I can have."

The podcaster added:

"They're so anti-transgender. Which is confusing to me because I have been to the Nicki concert. I'm so confused by so much of what was said on that stage. Extremely disappointed. Very anti-Black of you. Let's just call sh*t what it is... There's no way to sugar coat it. I'm done. I'm off."

Budden and his fellow show hosts then went on to talk about how much of Minaj's fanbase is queer and trans and how they might feel alienated from her due to her appearance at the Turning Point event, with one of the show hosts stating:

"I'm thinking about how it plays out with her fanbase moving forward. Her fanbase is disproportionately LGBTQ. LGBTQ people are overrepresented in her fanbase. And they're not all trans but even just a regular gay person who just doesn't like hearing trans people talked about that way..."

The show host continued:

I'm like how much of the base is going to feel alienated from this... I feel like she must be cannibalizing her own fanbase doing some of this stuff."

Budden is currently the first celebrity podcaster to cut ties with Nicki Minaj over her Turning Point USA appearance. Minaj has also faced backlash from fans on the internet regarding some of the comments she made during the appearance.

Joe Budden has interviewed Nicki Minaj several times

Joe Budden has had multiple conversations with Nicki Minaj over the years. One of the more notable instances of it is back in 2019, when Minaj appeared on Budden's podcast and talked with him about Rory and the Boomstick. Minaj appeared on the Case Study 271 of Budden's podcast.

Subsequently, Minaj appeared on Budden's podcast in 2022, where she talked about starting her own fashion line, among other things. In 2023, the singer once again appeared on the podcast with him in December.

Joe Budden was asked by Nicki Minaj to perform on her Pink Friday tour back in 2024. He declined the invitation to perform, saying he didn't have the kind of hype needed to perform on stage.

Joe Budden has stated in the above-quoted conversation that he did still continue to have love for Nicki Minaj as a person and said that he had a lot of good conversations with her in the past, but he couldn't support her on her recent views, made apparent on her appearance with Erika Kirk at Turning Point USA fest.
