What family traditions strengthen Malcolm McDowell's marriage to Kelley Kuhr? Actor highlights their shared love of collecting

Malcolm McDowell has been giving the public a little glimpse into his marriage to Kelley Kuhr for more than 30 years. In an exclusive interview with People, McDowell praised his wife for how amazing she is at what she does, despite the job differences. He also shared a few things that have helped to keep their marriage strong and fun.

Malcolm says he is "very lucky" when it comes to his wife, and added:

"You know what? Honestly, I am not an expert on relationships... I wish I was... And I think just liking the partner you're with is very important and just respecting."

He revealed a shared love that they have for collecting. The 82-year-old actor said:

"But we also, we're collectors... We collect stuff and we pretty much collect and like the same stuff, which is lucky... a lot of fun... always have fun wherever we go."

One thing they enjoy doing together is going:

"always straight to the antique shops and hunting around and having fun that way. It's great."

Malcolm McDowell's wife, Kelly Kuhr, is a designer, and the pair have been married since 1991. After 34 years of marriage, this is what McDowell has to say about his wife:

"My wife's a brilliant designer and at the moment, she's doing this house in Mexico, which is her masterpiece. It's an amazing thing that she's done and I'm so proud of her... She doesn't do what I do (acting), but she's just as successful in her own way and I'm in awe of what she does. It's amazing. I don't know how she does it, but she does it."

How many children do Malcolm McDowell and Kelley Kuhr have?

McDowell and Kuhr share three sons: 21-year-old Beckett, 18-year-old Finn, and 16-year-old Seamus.

Malcolm also has two children with his ex-wife, Mary Steenburgen. Their children are a little older: Lily, who is 44 years old, and 41-year-old Charlie.

Malcolm is a grandfather to four girls, whom he adores. The newest addition to the family is his granddaughter, Tove, from his son Charlie and his daughter-in-law, Lily Collins.

When asked about Tove, he told People:

"She's absolutely gorgeous... Absolutely beautiful."

He also had this to say about his other granddaughters:

"I love being around them and just watching the antics that go on and the dynamic and the difference between them all. It's staggering... They're so different in personality and everything. It's just beautiful to watch."
