Wrestler Syko Stu, originally known as Stuart Smith, was left injured when Raja Jackson unexpectedly rushed into a live-streamed match and attacked him, which led to hospitalization. The incident took place on August 23 in Los Angeles, when Jackson, the son of Quinton Jackson, broke into the Knox Experience show and started assaulting Stu.
Wrestling reporter Sean Ross Sapp later shared on X that while Jackson’s appearance was planned, the violent attack that left Stu injured was not, with people criticizing Raja for taking things too far.
While fans were waiting for any updates on Stu, Douglas Malo, who was one of the wrestlers stopping Raja from assaulting Smith, told USA Today that Smith is awake. However, he had:
"broken bones in his face and lost a lot of teeth."
In another statement, he said:
"He was choking on his own blood and teeth"
According to Malo, Smith could be released from the hospital on August 24. However, there have been no official updates on his transfer yet.
Raja Jackson's father, Quinton Jackson, releases statement
Soon after the incident got attention on the internet, Raja's father and wrestler Quinton Jackson released a statement on X:
"I’ve been confirmed that the wrestler ( Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable. Raja was unexpectedly hit in the side of the head by him moments before Smith’s match. Raja was told that he could get his “payback”in the ring,i thought it was apart of the show."
He further added:
"I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL! He suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact. As a father, im deeply concerned with his health AND the well being of Mr. Smith."
The internet had a mixed reaction to Quinton’s explanation, with many criticizing both him and Raja for downplaying what fans felt was a very serious incident.
A user, MMA Andy, wrote on X:
"Raja Jackson attacked a veteran who loves to wrestle, entertain people and is a family man. Dude has a wife and family, Raja Jackson needs a good as* beating and jail time"
Another user, @faithhopentrick, tweeted:
"Raja Jackson & his actions are the epitome of fragile masculinity and how young Men are being taught to act with aggression above all else. Violence is not what makes a man, and every grown man who teaches their Son that it is, are shameful"
One more user, @MysticWikiMMA, added:
"This disgusting dumb animal should get 5 years in prison per punch. No wife or kids for Raja Jackson"
As of now, Jackson himself has not released any public statement addressing the incident.
