Jannik Sinner gave signed tennis balls to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children after winning the 2025 Wimbledon men’s singles final. The moment took place on Sunday, July 13, when the royal family met the champion following his match. The tennis star handed out three signed balls, one each for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 10, were present at the Wimbledon final with their parents. Prince Louis, 7, was not there, but he still received a tennis ball. In a short clip aired by the BBC, Charlotte was seen holding three tennis balls during the family’s chat with Sinner. The Italian player took the balls from her and signed them.

Kate thanked him and said,

“We brought one for their brother as well.”

Prince William then said, “Louis would be very upset otherwise,” and laughed. Earlier that day, Sinner won the men’s singles title after defeating Carlos Alcaraz in four sets: 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. After the match, Kate presented Jannik Sinner with the Wimbledon trophy on Centre Court. She has held the role of royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016.

The royal family then made their way to meet Sinner in private. That is when George and Charlotte got their tennis balls signed, and a ball for Louis was also included. The meeting was recorded on video and shared on several news platforms.

George and Charlotte met the champion Jannik Sinner after the final

Prince George and Princess Charlotte sat with their parents in the Royal Box at Centre Court during the final match. After the match ended, they went backstage to meet Jannik Sinner. During their conversation, George said “Well played” to the champion. Sinner asked them if they played tennis. Both children said yes. He then asked which racquets they use, and they replied, “Yonex.” Sinner said, “Okay, that’s nice.” The short exchange happened as he signed the tennis balls.

Prince Louis, who did not attend the match, received his signed tennis ball later. Kate and William made sure he was not left out. Louis has not yet been to Wimbledon. He is younger than both his siblings were when they first attended.

Wimbledon is one of the few public events where the royal children are seen with their parents each year. The All England Club often invites the Prince and Princess of Wales to attend the finals. This year, their children joined them again for the men's final.

A gift for all three royal children

The signed tennis balls from Jannik Sinner were given to all three royal children. George and Charlotte received theirs in person. Louis’s ball was signed separately, but at the same time, and was taken home to him. The gifts were given after Sinner’s match win and during a short conversation with the royal family.

The signed balls were plain tennis balls, similar to the ones used during the matches. Charlotte held all three when they approached Jannik Sinner. He used a marker to sign his name on each one. All three balls were handed back to the family after that.

The meeting was short and friendly. The children spoke with Jannik Sinner, and Kate and William thanked him. The tennis star smiled and laughed along during the exchange. The footage was later shown on the BBC and reported by People magazine and other outlets.

The tennis balls that Jannik Sinner signed may not seem like a big deal, but to the royal children, they were a really nice surprise. They got to watch the match live, meet the champion, talk with him, and even get something to take home.
