Jonathan Bailey kissed Scarlett Johansson again as they shared the red carpet for the second time, following their Jurassic World Rebirth world tour. On June 23, 2025, Bailey and Johansson were at the New York premiere of their upcoming film when the cameras captured the two friends sharing a quick kiss. However, this was not the first time Bailey and Johansson were caught kissing on the red carpet.
On June 16, which was the London premiere of Jurassic World Rebirth, the two co-stars were seen sharing a smooch. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jonathan Bailey clarified what the kiss meant. He said:
"I believe in being able to show love in all different ways. And if you can't kiss your friends... life's too short not to."
Jonathan Bailey has openly shared his sexual orientation, and Scarlett Johansson has been married to her husband and SNL host, Colin Jost, since 2020. Both Scarlett and her husband were also present at the New York premiere of the new film.
Jonathan Bailey opens up more about his sexuality and his upcoming film
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Bridgerton actor got candid about how being an openly gay actor has an impact on him co-headlining Jurassic World Rebirth. According to Bailey, it has a certain "weight" to it. He added:
"There's moments where, yes, you have to be excellent to prove that you can do it. And it’s not like I haven't felt that. There’s the weight of history, and there’s endless brilliant people who have come before you who have changed the way that people see sexuality."
He also talked about how limited it was for openly gay actors to get a part that was not for them, but a lot has changed. Jonathan Bailey continued:
"Any sort of sense of prejudice against sexuality is something to fight against, and what better way to do that than to go and play any kind of character... Being an out gay actor, historically, meant that you wouldn't be able to play straight and there weren't any gay parts to play anyway. That's obviously changed massively."
Jurassic World Rebirth will be released in the US and Canada on July 2, 2025. The film was directed by Gareth Edwards, and it features Scarlett Johansson playing the role of a covert operation expert named Zora Bennett. Jonathan Bailey plays a paleontologist named Dr. Henry Loomis.
