Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade have been married for more than a decade, since 2014. The couple has attended numerous Hollywood events together, but during one specific event, Dwyane Wade let out a scream that surprised even him and his wife. On a recent episode of TODAY with Jenna & Friends, the retired NBA player revealed a moment when he fangirled over another celebrity while attending an event with Gabrielle Union.

Union took to Instagram to repost a video of her husband talking about the moment on the TODAY with Jenna & Friends chat show. She shared it on her Instagram story and wrote:

"He SCREAMED it y’all. I dieeeeed."

Who did Dwyane Wade see that made him scream at a Hollywood event?

While speaking to Jenna, the host of TODAY with Jenna & Friends, Dwyane Wade explained:

"We were out one night in L.A., and I was at an event. This was as I was getting into Hollywood with my wife, like, I didn't know, I don't know about this Hollywood life. I'm an athlete... We were out, and I wanted to go. I had put on the wrong shoes, you know, I was trying to look good on the carpet... My feet was killing me, and so, I was ready to go. I was probably like, getting on her nerves, but then across the room, I saw a character that I love from 'Scandal.'"

He continued to reveal who he saw at the event. Wade said:

"The character was Mellie Grant a.k.a. Bellamy Young. I saw Mellie Grant and I just yelled, 'Mellie!'," the camera reveals a photo of the three (Bellamy, Garbielle, and Dwyane) from the night of the event.

Dwyane Wade was surprised to see the photo and responded:

"Oh, y'all got the photo! That's the night! Why's my wife in the picture hating? That was my moment," he added jokingly.

Jenna continued by saying:

"You yelled across the room, 'Mellie?'"

To which Wade replied:

"I just screamed it. I didn’t even know that was in me."

Jenna chimed in, saying:

"You know that's not her name... So, what was her response?"

Dwyane explained:

"She turned around and looked and waved, and came over. And we started chatting it up, and my wife was like, 'You ready to go?' I'm like, 'No!'"

Wade also responded to Jenna, saying that he had never met Bellamy Young after that, but they have the photo. The video clip ended with Wade asking Jenna for the photo, and the host joked, saying they will print it for him, so he can put it on his wall.
