Mingus Reedus' arrest
Mingus Reedus, who is 25 years old, is Norman's son with model Helena Christensen. He was arrested on August 23, 2025, in Manhattan on charges of assault and criminal obstruction of breathing.
Mingus was arrested in a section near 16th Street and 8th Avenue in New York City. According to People Magazine, the police found a 33-year-old woman who had minor injuries to her neck and leg. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital by EMS and was in stable condition. As per a video by The Post, Mingus was later quoted as saying it was just a "misunderstanding".
Later, prosecutors added more serious charges. As per The Post, the charges state that on Friday night, Mingus reportedly lifted the victim using both his hands off the ground as he choked her. Additionally, the next morning, he allegedly continued to kick the victim on the leg, throwing her to the floor.
His lawyer argued and stated that the bruising suffered by the victim was unrelated to the incident on Saturday, and further elaborated on the context of her client's relationship to the victim. According to The Post, his attorney claimed that the victim had consumed "a number of sleeping pills" after Mingus had reportedly ended their relationship. She also said that he had called 911 out of concern, and the court has ordered Mingus to stay away from the victim.
This is not the first legal issue that Mingus has been involved in. In 2021, he was arrested during the San Gennaro Festival in New York after an alleged assault incident with a woman. He later accepted a plea deal and received a conditional discharge plus counselling, as per EW.
