Phoebe Tonkin married her partner in an intimate ceremony in New York City on May 10, 2025. The H20: Just Add Water star walked down the aisle in a custom Chanel dress—a lace slip dress complete with a train, a strapless tulle topper, and lace embroidery.

In an interview with Vogue Magazine published May 17, 2025, the actor revealed that it had always been her dream to wear Chanel on her wedding day and thanked her team for making it happen:

“I had always hoped I would wear Chanel on my wedding day. It is still surreal to think I got to wear a custom Chanel wedding dress. I am so unbelievably grateful to the team, the ateliers, and my stylist, Emma Jade Morrison, who worked so tirelessly to make the wedding dress of my dreams.”

She rocked the dress with Jessica McCormack earrings, her hair styled into a classic braid down her back, and her makeup was simple and glowy. For the reception party, the bride changed into a custom sequin Magda Butrym dress that accommodated her dance movements.

For the intimate rehearsal dinner earlier, Phoebe Tonkin paid homage to fashion icon Carrie Bradshaw in the Galliano Newspaper Print dress. Ana Khouri jewellery accented the elegant look.

Phoebe Tonkin reflects on her wedding ceremony

Tonkin’s wedding to art curator Bernard Lagrange was a romantic combination of European and Australian cultures. During the reception, the guests kicked their shoes into a pile barefoot; the party danced to 2manydjs/Soulwax playing.

Satisfied with how her wedding planning turned out, Phoebe Tonkin described it.

“It was the best weekend of my life. It couldn’t have been more perfect.”

Apart from the Sex and the City reference with her Carrie Bradshaw dress, Phoebe Tonkin walked down the aisle to the Dawn score from Pride & Prejudice playing in the background:

“Firstly, because I love that piece of music, and secondly, all my friends were joking about whether or not I would walk down the aisle in a bonnet and a corset because they know how much I love period films. I knew it would make them laugh to hear that play.”

Tonkin shared that a major moment of her wedding day was getting ready alongside her bridesmaids, mum, and sister:

"Other than marrying the love of my life, the second best part of the weekend was spending the day getting ready with my bridesmaids, my sister, and my mum.”

She added:

"Christian and Victoria have been two of my closest friends for years, so the entire day was filled with so much love and excitement.”
