Plot speculations of The Devil Wears Prada 2, explored
In the recent Instagram posts made by Vogue Magazine, we witness Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly making an entrance in the Dolce & Gabbana spring 2026 collection. We see the veteran actor in the complete look of the iconic Runway editor, along with Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling. The OG cast is also joined by Simone Ashley at the fashion event, who is seen donning Dolce apparel.
The cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2 also meets with the real-life inspiration behind the fiery character of Priestly, the former editor-in-chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour. In fact, we witness a heartwarming exchange between Streep and Wintour as they embrace together. Meryl Streep even reveals to her that this is her first fashion show, to which Wintour utters:
"You're kidding!"
In another post made by the outlet, we see Streep, along with Stanley Tucci, sitting in the front row of the fashion show. In the row behind, Simone Ashley, the new addition to the world of Priestly, joins the actors as well.
In the post, it says that Miranda Priestly has not attended a single show in the last 20 years. But there is a burning rumor and an unexpected turn of events. Priestly and Kipling witness a collection full of pajamas, with floral prints and hues of cerulean adjacent blue.
Here is an excerpt of the post:
"The legendary editor of Runway magazine has not been seen at the shows in nearly 20 years, but rumor has it she is cooking up a MAJOR plot-twist for the globally-known bible of fashion. Flanked by Runway’s long-suffering Art Director Nigel Kipling, Priestly saw a collection that majored on pajamas: decorative highlights included spring florals and a cerulean adjacent blue. We salute the return of Runway magazine’s fearsome editrix: nobody can do what she does."
In a different post, The Devil Wears Prada 2's cast is seen raising their glasses and cheering. The post seems to be teasing the plot of the sequel, directing us to the question of what made Priestley return to the fashion show after a hiatus of 20 years.
The post reads as:
What a way to make an entrance at #MilanFashionWeek. Runway’s legendary editor Miranda Priestly returned to fashion at today’s @dolcegabbana spring 2026 show after a two-decade absence. So why has Priestly descended from her ivory tower at Elias-Clarke Publications’ Manhattan HQ to rejoin fashion’s front line? Discover this—and more from her appearance—at the link in bio.
It is quite a clever and compelling way to witness the reel and real merging. At a very real fashion show, Streep as Priestly not only meets Anna Wintour, but somehow the plot of The Devil Wears Prada 2 also seems to be stitched with real events. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, there is a possibility that the three actors might be present there for filming the scenes of the sequel, even though this information is not been verified yet.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is coming to the screens next year, on May 1, 2026.
