American film and television actor Ron Dean had a net worth of $1.5 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. A big part of his fortune came from his TV series and movies that Dean did over the years.

He was a part of big movies like The Dark Knight, Above The Law, The Fugitive, and The Breakfast Club. The actor was present in the entertainment industry since 1976 and last appeared in a TV series titled Chicago P.D. in 2016.

While the exact amount he earned from these successful projects was never publicly revealed, it’s likely that their popularity contributed significantly to his overall wealth.

Ron Dean also worked with Tom Cruise in three movies, Risky Business, The Color of Money, and Cocktail, which were all big studio films and likely added to his earnings. According to The Numbers, Ron Dean’s films have earned over $1.7 billion worldwide at the box office.

Explaining the type of roles he took, Reel Chicago wrote in a statement:

"He built a prolific career portraying cops, detectives, and blue-collar Chicagoans, a niche that made him the go-to for casting directors whenever a production called for the real deal. With his distinctive Chicago accent and unvarnished demeanor, he embodied the city on screen in a way few others could."

Ron Dean was also nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award in 1996 for his role in Supple in Combat at Steppenwolf Theatre Company.

All of this recognition and success likely helped Dean secure more roles and higher-profile projects, ultimately increasing his fortune. However, very little is known about any other sources of income beyond his acting career.

Ron died on October 5 at the age of 87. The news of his death was announced by his partner, Maggie Neff. Sharing a statement to People, she said:

"Ron and I were/are kindred spirits. Our connection was instantaneous and remained so for nearly four decades. The love between us was unconditional and permanent. We locked horns many times over the years, but there was never any question that we would be there for each other in our hour of need. And we always were."

Remembering him, director Andrew David reportedly said in a statement:

"Ron Dean was my dear friend and a tremendous actor. He was the essence of what Chicago talent represented. Having a very troubled youth Ron turned his life around to have a wonderful career as a loving, decent human being and respected talent."
