When did Callum Turner land his first leading role? All about Dua Lipa’s fiancé and rising star

Callum Turner and Dua Lipa have been making waves on the internet after the latter confirmed her engagement to Callum during an interview with British Vogue, published on June 12, 2025.

The Be the One singer and Callum were first linked publicly back in January 2024; however, Dua made it official just recently. Turner is a British actor who was initially a model before he transitioned into acting. According to Parade, Turner landed his first leading role in the 2014 drama film Queen & Country, directed by John Boorman.

Callum has also appeared in other projects, including the 2018 film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and the 2024 miniseries Masters of the Air, among others.

The couple made their Met Gala debut this year, which further sparked rumors of their engagement. Describing how it feels to be engaged to Callum, this is what Dua Lipa said in her interview with British Vogue:

''Yeah, we’re engaged. It’s very exciting. I’m obsessed with it, she said while touching her ring. It’s so me. It’s nice to know the person that you’re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.''

She continued:

''This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don’t know, be best friends forever – it’s a really special feeling.''

While Dua is an international icon, Callum also has an impressive career. He began his journey as a model and worked for brands like Burberry, Reebok, Next, and was also involved with Louis Vuitton as an ambassador.

When Callum made his entry into the world of acting, he worked in short films including Think of England, Zero, and Human Beings. He also worked in the 2012 ITV series, Leaving, followed by the miniseries called The Town, and the 2013 historical drama The Borgias.

His breakout role was in the 2015 American horror-thriller film Green Room. Callum also worked in the mystery series The Capture, where his performance earned him a nomination for the British Academy Television Award for Best Actor.

Other films in which Turner worked include the 2021 romantic drama film The Last Letter from Your Lover, the 2023 sports drama film The Boys in the Boat, and the 2025 American war satire film Atropia.

Callum has left his mark even in the television industry, where he worked in the drama series War & Peace and the 2014 drama series Glue. Callum will be seen in the upcoming drama thriller film titled Rosebush Pruning and the science-fiction film Rose of Nevada.

In 2014, Callum was selected as one of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts' Breakthrough Brits, as an emerging talent in television and film.
