The forthcoming Tom Cruise film Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning has been filmed across various locations across countries, which include the United Kingdom, Malta, Italy, South Africa, and Norway.
Helmed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film follows the plot of Ethan Hunt's dangerous journey into safeguarding the Entity. The final film of the Mission: Impossible film series releases in the United States on 23rd May, 2025.
Along with Cruise, the film has a cast of an ensemble of talented actors, including Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Angela Bassett, Henry Czerny, and many others.

Where was Mission: Impossible- The Final Reckoning filmed?
The film has been shot in diverse locations spanning across countries. Since the film was built on a massive budget of $300-$400 million, that gave the production more scope to explore a plethora of locations in this high-stakes action film.
The filming took place within a span of two years. It commenced in March 2022, with the United Kingdom being the starting point. And then the filming proceeded to take place in Malta and then Norway. This schedule ended in December 2022.
In the year 2023, some scenes at the snow-capped locations of Svalbard, Norway, were filmed. By the time of spring of the year, the filming proceeded to take place in Italy and South Africa. However, owing to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, the filming took a halt in July 2023.
In the next year, in 2024, the filming again restarted in March and was finally concluded in the month of November. In the middle, a defect in a submarine had interrupted the shoot in the month of May, causing postponement.
1) Valletta, Malta
Some scenes of the film have been shot in Malta, Europe, specifically Valletta. It is not yet known about the particular locations within the area or the sequences of the movie that were shot in this location.
However, we can assume that since Malta is a home for picturesque historical buildings, as well as its seascapes, we could get glimpses of some breathtaking locations of the country in the film.
2) United Kingdom

Several locations across the United Kingdom have been shot for the film. Many high-action scenes, including the famous scene of Tom Cruise swinging on the aircraft midair, have been shot in London, England.
Along with London, some of the locations within the United Kingdom where the filming took place include
- Lake District
- Longcross Studios in Surrey
- Westminster Abbey
3) Italy

Although the film was not shot within the country of Italy, there are sequences in the film that shot the USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier at the coast of Puglia.
4) South Africa

Various scenic locations across South Africa have been filmed for the high-powered action sequences of the film. We shall witness Tom Cruise's aircraft hovering over the mountainous terrains of River Canyon in Mpumalanga.

- Drakensberg Mountain
- Kruger National Park
5) Norway

Some gripping action scenes of the film have been shot across Norway too, in the regions of Svalbard and Aurland, Vestland.
The frosty terrains of Svalbard have been a complete contrast to the rest of the locations of the film. Alongside, the fjord village of Aurland is a site of some panoramic visuals of mountain ranges.
