Jake Paul has hired a top lawyer named Alex Spiro. Paul says some people are saying his boxing fights are fixed. He wants to stop these claims, and Alex Spiro will take legal action against anyone making these claims.

Alex Spiro is a very well-known lawyer. He has worked with well-known personalities such as Elon Musk, Jay‑Z, and Alec Baldwin. He has a strong record in court and is known for handling tough, high‑profile cases. People see him as one of the most powerful lawyers today.

Paul says Spiro will act if someone uses public platforms to spread lies about him or the sport. Spiro told TMZ:

"I've been retained by Mr. Paul to pursue legal redress for the damages he suffered. If someone uses their public soapbox to harm him and the sport with lies, there will be consequences."

Paul has been frustrated by critics, including Piers Morgan and Sylvester Stallone, who have called his fights staged.

Alex Spiro's background and past clients

Alex Spiro is a partner at the major law firm Quinn Emanuel in New York City. He studied biopsychology at Tufts University, after which he earned a law degree from Harvard Law School. Early in his career, he worked as a prosecutor in Manhattan, where he helped convict Rodney Alcala, a serial killer from the 1970s.

Over time, Alex Spiro shifted to defense and civil cases. His client list includes many famous people. He represented Elon Musk in a defamation case over comments made on Twitter/X. That case ended in Musk being found not liable.

He defended Jay‑Z in several legal matters, including a suit related to allegations of sexual assault and a $4.5 million payout dispute over a cologne deal, both of which ended positively for Jay‑Z.

He also represented actor Alec Baldwin in the “Rust” manslaughter case. The charges were dismissed after key evidence was found to be withheld. Baldwin cannot be retried. And then, he represented New York City Mayor Eric Adams in a federal corruption case. The charges were eventually dismissed “with prejudice,” meaning the charges cannot be brought again.

What does this mean for Jake Paul?

Jake Paul is known both for his boxing and for being a public personality. Some people have said his fights are scripted or staged. Most of these claims came after his fights against older or less active opponents like Mike Tyson and Julio César Chávez Jr. Critics such as Piers Morgan and Sylvester Stallone suggested the fights felt scripted or unfair. Stallone later apologized for his comments, but the narrative persisted.

In the past, Paul took legal steps. In 2022, he made accusations about fight-fixing involving Matchroom Boxing and others. Eddie Hearn and another defendant sued him for defamation. Paul countersued, and both sides settled in April 2025 in a confidential agreement.

Now, Paul is taking a broader legal stance. His team, including Alex Spiro, aims to send a message - public claims that damage his name or boxing’s image will be met with lawsuits. Potential names mentioned by the media include critics like Piers Morgan, Sylvester Stallone, and others in combat sports circles like Paddy Pimblett, Tommy Fury, and Dillon Danis.

Paul’s public relations team, Most Valuable Promotions, also released a statement defending the fights. They insisted the matches were properly regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and that no secret contracts or restrictions were in place.

Jake Paul is not just in the ring; he is now fighting in court to protect his name and the legitimacy of his sport. With Alex Spiro leading the charge, the questions and legal pressure are only beginning.
