Businessman Jayson Winer has filed a lawsuit against former pro boxer and promoter Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the Miami-Dade Circuit Court on September 6, accusing him of fraud, the Daily Mail reported. Winer is the CEO and co-founder of the tequila brand Casa Malka, according to the outlet and his Instagram profile.
According to the liquor tycoon's suit, Mayweather allegedly promised to connect him with his friend, Elon Musk, via text, in exchange for money.
However, the ex-boxing champion reportedly never contacted the SpaceX boss. Instead, he received fake screenshots as “proof” of contact.
Not only that, but Jayson has claimed that Floyd said he would arrange FaceTime meetings with Musk in exchange for $4 million, which never happened. Furthermore, the defendant apparently boasted about his friendship with the world’s richest person, according to Daily Mail reports.
Jayson Winer is now pursuing a jury trial and compensation against Floyd Mayweather Jr., in what has been described as an alleged cash-for-access scandal. He is also suing Mayweather’s real estate partner, Jona Rechnitz.
While Floyd may have crossed paths with Elon, there’s no evidence that the two are friends, nor that Musk knew anything about the alleged proposal.
All you need to know about Jayson Winer and his tequila brand amid Floyd Mayweather Jr controversy
According to The Spirit Business Magazine, Jayson Winer, his ex-wife Malka Roth, who is a spin instructor, and their family friend Jeff Diego co-founded the women- and fashion-focused tequila brand Casa Malka in the spring of 2022. The couple, who share three daughters, launched their business during their separation.
Jayson, whose family is based in Israel, is now also the CEO of the brand that produces 100 percent additive-free tequila, born in the USA but made in Mexico. Winer is also a digital artist known by the pseudonym Mr. Black and previously worked on Wall Street.
He has an Instagram account with the handle @jayson_w23, where he promotes both his personal and professional lives. The bio states, “A spiritual gangsta with a hustler spirit.”
“Casa Malka really stands as a brand that encourages you to better yourself. To drink better-quality spirits, to lead a better lifestyle, to be on a growth path – everything we strive to do is to better yourself,” Winer told the outlet during an interview in February 2025.
According to the ‘Our Story’ page on the Casa Malka website, Malka in Hebrew means “queen,” and Casa is the Spanish word for “house.” Therefore, the name means “house of the queen.” Jayson Winer even jokes that he is the “house” and his ex-wife is the “queen.”
The brand’s slogan is “Welcome to the Queendom” and embodies royalty, where the tequila bottles are custom-designed to resemble vintage perfume bottles, and the gold cap represents the crown. Jayson Winer’s sister and her Nhilo Branding Agency assisted in designing the bottle.
“Drawing inspiration from high fashion, design, music, and sports, Casa Malka invites you into the Queendom—where elegance, mystery, and intrigue await. We respect the tradition, but say F** it to the rules,” the website description reads.
The brand also sells limited-edition merchandise and was the sponsor of the 2024 Fashion Meets Football event in New York City. Casa Malka’s specialties are two 40 percent ABV tequilas: Casa Malka Blanco and Casa Malka Reposado.
Jayson Winer’s tequila brand is available in 45 states. They will soon expand to Asia and Europe.
More about Jayson Winer’s legal suit against Floyd Mayweather Jr
According to Jayson Winer’s lawsuit obtained by Daily Mail, he was shadow-banned on X after attempting to sell 21,000 digital art pieces in a week-long online auction. As a result, he could not promote his collection. He claims that Floyd Mayweather Jr and his real estate developer friend Jona Rechnitz reportedly exploited his “desperation” and scammed him.

Winer’s lawsuit states that Mayweather claimed to have grown close to Elon Musk while training him for a “cage match” in 2023 against Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg. While the fight never occurred, Floyd later endorsed Trump in the 2024 presidential election, maintaining his friendship with Musk.
According to Jayson Winer, the ex-boxer called the Tesla CEO “my guy” and offered to introduce him to the tequila mogul through a text worth. Winer initially refused but later agreed.
The court papers reviewed by the Daily Mail claim that Mayweather’s representatives allegedly arranged a fake video conference between Winer and Musk in exchange for a couple of his designer watches worth $160,000 and $20,000 in cash. Floyd’s security guard even visited Jayson’s home to collect the items. However, the promised call never happened.
According to the civil suit, Jayson has claimed the experience with the boxer left him feeling “humiliated” and “cheated.” In April 2025, a Miami judge ordered the plaintiff to stop sending threatening online messages to the defendants.
It is noteworthy that Rechnitz is a convicted fraudster, as per the Daily Mail. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud in 2016. He also assisted Mayweather in entering the New York real estate market and in establishing his firm, Vada Properties.
