American writer and actor Thomas Troupe, known by the name Tom Troupe, died on July 20 at his Beverly Hills home. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the news was shared by his family spokesperson, who revealed that he died of natural causes. He was 97.

Troupe was a renowned actor who appeared in numerous hit shows, including Star Trek and My Own Private Idaho. Troupe was married to the late actress Carole Cook, who died in 2023, due to heart failure. Before Carole, he was reportedly married to Sally Singer in 1955. Their relationship lasted for about two years.

As per Variety, his family includes his son Christopher Troupe and his wife, Becky Coulter. Troupe also has a granddaughter, Ashley Troupe.

Tom Troupe was a recipient of the L.A. Ovation Award for Career Achievements, which he received in 2002 along with his late wife.

According to IMDb, Tom Troupe last appeared in Time Out, released in 2019, where he played the role of Mr. Andrews. He made his first Broadway appearance in 1957, playing Peter in The Diary of Anne Frank.

Tom's talent was well recognized in the entertainment industry. Some of his other works include Break A Hip, What I Did Last Summer, Who's The Boss, Kelly's Heroes, Summer School, and The Fugitive.

Additionally, he wrote the 1968 drama titled Sofi, in which he also appeared as part of the cast. During the 1960s, he performed in a stage production of Grand Guignol in Hollywood, California.

He also performed in Bernard Slade’s Return Engagements in 1988 at the Cape Playhouse in Dennis, Massachusetts, alongside Mia Dillon and Reed Birney.

Tom Troupe, son of Antonio Truppa and Josephine Marie Anello, collaborated with his late wife, Carole Cook, in several stage productions, including A Lion in Winter and Fathers' Day. While he was a celebrated actor, Tom also served in the Korean War, showing his dedication both to the arts and to his country.

Due to his love for acting and mentorship, he also co-founded an acting school in Los Angeles called The Faculty with Charles Nelson Reilly.

Fans from around the world are mourning the loss of the veteran actor, sharing prayers and tributes on social media. The news has come five days after his 97th birthday, which took place on July 15.
