English television personality Josie Gibson has decided to remove her breast implants after a recent health scare. The 40-year-old Big Brother winner talked to The Sun in an exclusive interview where she revealed that she had a cancer scare after finding a lump in her breast. Gibson first got implants in 2013 when she went from a B cup to a double D. However, 10 years later, she found a lump in her breast and became really worried about it.
The This Morning presenter said:
"You could actually see it protruding — you could see the breast had changed shape, so I was getting a little bit frightened... So I went to my GP and he had a feel around — it was my breast implant. I went and I had them out and, for me, it was one of the best things I've done."
Josie Gibson is happy with the decision to remove her implants, saying that removing them gave her "peace of mind."
What charity did Josie Gibson join after her cancer scare?
Josie Gibson teamed up with tombola bingo and Breast Cancer Now, which is a charity promoting their "eyes down, check up" campaign. The purpose of the charity is to raise awareness for breast cancer by helping individuals learn and identify early symptoms and changes in their body that they need to look out for.
In addition to this, Breast Cancer Now is also raising £1 million (approximately $1355500).
According to Gibson, she said:
"We only ever talk about breast cancer when something bad happens. Let’s make it part of the conversation."
This is not the first time Josie has been vocal about cancer. After winning and leaving Big Brother, she donated £20,000 (approximately $27110) of her earnings to Young Lives vs Cancer. It is the 12th largest cancer charity in the UK.
What has Josie Gibson been up to recently?
Josie Gibson has been living in a caravan on site while renovating her £1.1 million house outside Bath. She described it as a stressful process that has turned her hair grey. In her words:
"Basically, I've just made my life a lot more stressful. Put it this way, I've been dying my hair... I've been doing so much manual labour, I have embraced my inner bloke."
She also added that she is looking forward to making her own cider since they have apple trees on the property.
Josie Gibson's health scare led her to prioritize her well-being by removing her implants. Through her partnership with Breast Cancer Now, she hopes to raise awareness and encourage early detection. At the same time, she continues to embrace new challenges in her personal life by focusing on renovating her house.
