Grey's Anatomy's Chandra Wilson returns to GH as a new Port Charles character

General Hospital fans can look forward to another appearance by Grey's Anatomy star Chandra Wilson, but this go-around will be much different than her last Port Charles check-in.

Grey's Anatomy star Chandra Wilson is scrubbing up for another appearance on General Hospital, but her second go-around in Port Charles comes with a twist.

The actress, who plays Dr. Miranda Bailey on ABC's wildly successful primetime series, showed up on the GH set today, August 6, to tape her upcoming scenes. But according to TV Line, she hasn't reprised her 2014 role as Dr. Kevin Collins' patient Tina Estrada. Instead, she's set to play Dr. Linda Massey, a therapist who will be counseling Curtis (Donnell Turner), Jordan (Vinessa Antoine), and Stella (Vernee Watson). And considering the way Stella feels about Jordan, well... it's safe to say Dr. Massey will have her hands quite full!

Wilson is a longtime fan of ABC's sole surviving soap. "I've watched GH for 35 years," she said at the time of her first appearance four years ago. "I grew up with it. It holds such a place in my heart."

An air date for Wilson's GH appearance hasn't been announced yet, but with soaps shooting about four to six weeks in advance, fans can likely expect to see Wilson show up in Port Charles just as summer is coming to a close.
