Since the devastating reveal about his parents at the Nurse's Ball earlier this year, Gio has kept Dante and Brook Lynn at arm's length. Although Gio has opened up to other extended family members at various times, like Sonny, Lois, or Tracy, he's remained adamant that DNA is the only thing he shares with his biological parents. Any attempt by Dante or Brook Lynn to reach their son has been met with either apathy or full-blown hostility. However, a recent verbal lashing at Dante's hand paved the way for Gio and Brook Lynn to finally come together.Dante threatened Gio for his decision to involve Rocco in the break-in at Dalton's lab. Despite Emma and Gio calling it off, Rocco went through with the original plan, landing himself in jail and facing serious felony charges. In Dante's opinion, Gio risked his brother's freedom to "impress a girl" and practically wrote him out of his life. Considering that Dante felt this way about Gio at a different point before learning he was his son, this time was a more devastating blow. However, unlike Dante, Brook Lynn showed Gio far more grace, offering to genuinely listen to him and to come from a place of compassion rather than judgment. Michael facilitated a meeting at the hospital between the estranged mother and son, which led to Gio finally calling Brook Lynn "mom," and the pair held hands as they reflected on the ongoing plight facing their family. It was a moment long overdue, and viewers across social media felt the same, flocking to X to praise the emotional moment."Gio called Brook Lynn Mom!!! That brought tears to my eyes," one X user joyfully tweeted. "So glad that Gio and Brooklyn finally had a breakthrough!!! Way to go Michael," a viewer posted."Brook Lynn reached out to comfort Gio put his hand on top of hers. it's such a little moment, but it means everything to her #GH," another fan wrote. "Dante definitely made things easier with his antics now Brook Lynn and Gio are closer than ever," one viewer declared. "GIO CALLED BROOK LYNN HIS MOM!!!!! NO ONE TALK TO ME THIS IS IMPORTANT," a fan gleefully expressed. "Gio got Brook Lynn’s maternal instincts flowing. She will now channel Carly and go HARD for her son! #MamaBearMode #GH," one viewer said. "Those 2 little words broke all of us.... ......now I want to see Brooklyns Mama Bear protective mode to rip into Dante next time he goes off on Gio," another fan commented. What's next for Gio and Brook Lynn on General Hospital?Gio finally accepts Brook Lynn as his mother on General Hospital | Image: ABCFor Gio (Giovanni Mazza), he remains embroiled in the fallout of his younger brother breaking into the lab and facing felony charges. With Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) also confessing, there's a likelihood that he and Emma will be forced to formally come forward as well. However, since Sidwell (Carlo Rota) shot and killed Dalton (Daniel Goddard), the fallen professor won't be able to tell his side of things in a court of law. This is the best possible outcome for Gio and all of the kids, because the case will probably fall apart without his involvement, allowing them to move on with their lives. After the way Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) spoke to Gio, it may take a while for that bridge to mend. This time, though, Gio will have Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) planted firmly in his corner, and she can serve as a mediator between the two, or a champion for her son's well-being, something entirely dependent on Dante's attitude and behavior. Unfortunately for Brook Lynn, while it's a marvelous development that she and Gio finally forged a path as mother and son, the rest of her life remains in shambles or on the cusp of it.Besides Ned's (Wally Kurth) health crisis, Brook Lynn has a growing problem with her husband, Chase (Josh Swickard), that's slipping completely under her radar. His growing obsession with WIllow's (Katelyn MacMullen) case and securing her freedom has him going to great lengths to pin Drew's (Cameron Mathsion) shooting on Michael (Rory Gibson), a dear relative of BLQ, It's unclear how it will all unfold, but for now, Chase is risking his integrity as a member of law enforcement to prove that his ex-wife didn't commit the shooting, despite knowing everything she might be capable of. If Brook Lynn doesn't catch wind of this soon, it would be unsurprising if their marriage crumbled as a result of his private investigation.Catch all-new episodes of General Hospital weekdays on ABC and Hulu.
