Welcome to the Best of the Week for General Hospital, where we highlight some of the week’s standout moments, scenes, fashion, quotables, and notables.
This week’s episodes were packed with deceit, heavy emotions, and even a little comedy, so let’s dive in!
Best of the Week

Quotables (So many good ones this week!)

“I want you to remember this moment. This is the moment you could have ended things, and you refused. You chose Drew over our kids.” — Michael to Willow when she refused to believe him about Drew
“Hello, Molly’s sister” — Cody’s greeting to Kristina
“Ah yes, the baby sister that Michael sired with his former fiancé and current family cook” — Ric while questioning Willow in court
“You had sex on the floor of your children’s nursery, a room reserved for your children, where they could have come in at any point and seen the two of you in flagrante.” — Diane questioning Willow in court
“I think this is very broad-minded of you. You know, progressive. And just between you, me, and the lamppost, I’ve always thought that Alexis is a very attractive woman. You know, she’s got a button-down, minxy quality about her.” — Cody mistakenly thinking that Kristina wanted to hire him to seduce Alexis
Kristina: “Ava is a raccoon.” Cody: “Into garbage?” Kristina: “Easily distracted - and you are a very charming, shiny new object.” — Kristina hiring Cody to seduce Ava
“This is where I turned and faced myself.” — Isaiah talking to Lucky about finding his place in Port Charles
“Oh, my heart bleeds. Yeah. As we used to say on Cellblock #4, she had it coming.” — Martin’s response to Laura telling him that Tracy has her own upheaval to deal with (I always love me a good reference to a classic musical like Chicago.)
“Kai, if my parents were really planning to pay a sex worker to defraud a congressman, do you really think they would bring me into it?” — Trina explaining to Kai why it would be pointless to talk to her parents about their plans for Drew
“Yeah, I’m ambulance chasing and I’m not proud of it. Unfortunately, I don’t have any other options at the moment, thanks to Tracy Quartermaine and a coven of ex-wives determined to put me in the poor house.” — Martin, trying to enlist Elizabeth into helping him find litigious patients at the hospital
“Congratulations on your release from the pokey. I understand wives one, two, and three really bled you dry.” — Tracy, greeting Martin at the hospital
“I think that your head’s still spinning from all of that toilet Chardonnay.” — Tracy’s response to Martin saying she might need his services sooner than she thinks.
“Even you wouldn’t be so selfish, so underhanded, so depraved to set up my sweet grandson to hear that his father no longer wants him because he has a new baby. Even you wouldn’t be that cruel.” — Nina leading Drew into admitting what he purposefully said in front of Wylie
“What, did you hire a gigolo?” — Alexis questions Kristina about her seduction plan
“You can’t push that despicable cretin onto poor Elizabeth. She doesn’t deserve that.” — Alexis felt it was too cruel to push Ric toward Elizabeth.
Cody: “I knew that she wasn’t a saint but I had no idea how downright lethal she was. She shot Mama Q!” Kristina: “Well, if it helps, she was trying to shoot someone else.” Cody: “Uh, it does not help. Not to mention, she also killed Mama Q’s cousin. And that was definitely on purpose. Look, Ava’s hot, but you’re asking me to seduce a murderer…If you want me to be the Clyde to her Bonnie, then I’m going to need some hazard pay.”
Kristina: “It’s not like we’re doing anything illegal.” Alexis: “It’s not illegal. It’s unethical.” Kristina: “Oh my God, we’re talking about the two people who are extorting you.” — Kristina defending her seduction scheme of Ava and Ric
“How can I be mad at you? I’ve been you, meddling in other people’s lives until it all blows up in your face. That was my jam.” — Maxie explaining why she is not mad at Lulu
Moments

Lucky’s goodbye to Lulu
The last scenes of Lucky saying goodbye to Lulu were more touching than I expected. You’d never know that Jonathan Jackson and Alexa Havins hadn’t been playing brother and sister for years. Lulu’s tears tugged at my heart and, when Lucky said “I love you Leslie Lu”, it made me think of a young Lucky meeting his baby sister for the first time and felt like years of history wrapped in a moment.
Scenes

Drew’s selfish, underhanded, depraved deceit of sweet Wylie at the hospital
Oof, this was the moment Drew’s villain transformation became complete. At this point, they should just have him wear an evil Dick Dastardly styled mustache so that he can twirl it everytime he walks into a room. Kudos to Cameron Mathison for going all-in to make Drew truly detestable.
Michael’s arrival at the courthouse after Drew’s deceit of Wylie
There was a surprising amount of range in this scene. We quickly moved from Nina and Willow’s glee to thinking everything would work out and their semi-deluded mutual admiration bonding moment to Michael’s anger and Willow’s indignant denial of the truth. Next, came a sprinkle of fear after Michael told her, “I want you to remember this moment. This is the moment you could have ended things, and you refused. You chose Drew over our kids.” Finally, it was capped off with Drew’s continued lies and Nina’s contempt for Drew’s existence.
Katelyn MacMullen, Rory Gibson, Cynthia Watros, and Cameron Mathison brought the intensity this scene demanded and set the stage for the courtroom shocker to follow.
Kristina’s seduction scheme
The Cody and Kristina Scenes this week were pure gold!. Cody is the perfect choice to carry out one of Kristina’s harebrained schemes. There is so much that can go awry with her plan, but watching these two interact, I’m here for it. Besides, extorting money from a small child’s trust is pretty despicable and Ava and Ric really do deserve stronger karmic retribution for their many, many horrible transgressions.
Hats off to Josh Kelly and Kate Mansi for their performances. Josh’s comedic timing has only gotten better since his character crash landed into Port Charles a few years ago and Kate Mansi played the perfect comedy straight-man to his non-stop quips.
Willow’s breakdown in the courtroom
Even if you felt Willow had it coming, this scene was rough to watch. We see her deluded version of reality crumble before her eyes and she can’t even begin to recognize why. Katelyn MacMullen gave a gut wrenching performance that showcased Willow’s reckoning with reality and the desperate pain of a parent losing custody of their child.

Tracy and Martin
How do I love these two, let me count the ways! Jane Elliot and Michael E. Knight never fail to deliver. The quick and cutting banter between Tracy and Martin is reminiscent of the repartee in old Cary Grant movies and makes them a most entertaining watch.
Notables

The look on Ric’s face when he turned to look at Wylie after Drew walked off…If your actions appall Ric Lansing, it is time for a serious reevaluation of your life choices.
I loved Tracy’s Erica Kane mention. La Lucci (Susan Lucci) is one of the GOATs in the soap world!
Speaking of soap legends, Erika Slezak will be checking into General Hospital soon. Will she be playing Victoria Lord or someone else?
Joel Sartore (for whom Ava is planning a gallery event) is a real person. Check out his amazing photography on his website!
Fashion

Ava was the picture of rich-girl summer in her resort wear at the Metro Court pool…I’m going to call this look Boho Luxe.
Trina’s gallery and pool looks were adorable and her hair was fabulous!
Things that Make You Go Hmmm…

I know it worked out in the end, but why didn’t Diane bring up that Michael didn’t think Willow came to Germany in court? Why didn’t Michael ask Willow about it when they were in the park? Also, why didn’t he have Wiley say something about Drew to Willow?
Would it have killed Chase to apologize to Dante for keeping Brook Lynn’s secret? I know Dante is running around like the Anger character from Inside Out, but I think I’d have a bone to pick with Chase too!
Does it ever dawn on Nina that her lies and omissions of truth always wreck A LOT of people's lives?
