General Hospital's Portia Robinson is having a bad year. One bad move (with good intentions) last year has spiraled into something that's now way out of her control. Portia is on edge at all times, but this week she decided she was done — after a meltdown that had us raging right along with her. This week, Brook Kerr took Portia through every emotion as she took a journey that landed her in a place of strength, earning her Soap Central's GH Performer of the Week.
Portia's (many) problems

Portia has been a bundle of nerves for months, going through the motions at work, knowing that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) might appear in her office at any moment to make more threats and demands. It seems to be his favorite sport as Portia first argues with him, and then reluctantly agrees to anything he asks.
The conflict and confusion are always written all over Portia's face when Drew barks out his orders and when he slinks away. This week, Kerr gave us a surprise when she was allowed to take Portia's fury and let loose. Kerr held nothing back at Portia stared at all her degrees on the wall and wondered what it was all for, if Drew could ruin her career and her life. Then, she slammed one of those degrees to the floor in a rage that ended in sheer defeat and sadness.
General Hospital's Portia takes back her power

By the end of the week, Portia was DONE. She decided she was not going to kowtow to Drew anymore. Asking her to fake an opioid addiction to take a man's children away and place him in the home with the man who has been threatening and blackmailing her for months was too much for Portia.
As soon as Portia made the decision that she was NOT going to listen to Drew, Kerr was able to give her character a sense of sheer determination — and peace that she has so badly needed.
Kerr has always imbued a quiet strength in her character, who has certainly done her fair share of shady things, but always with her daughter's safety and security in mind. This week, she showed us what Portia is made of as she is ready to bring down Drew Cain once and for all.
