General Hospital's Portia Robinson has become one of our very favorite characters in Port Charles, which is one of the most unexpected occurrences of this year. And that is all thanks to Brook Kerr imbuing her hot mess of a character with a fierce humanity — flaws, bad moves, warts and all.

This week, all of Portia's secrets came to light in a few short and intense scenes that had us begging Alexis to stop right with poor Portia.

Portia's General Hospital problems are a-plenty

Portia went from peaceful to terrified all in one fell swoop as a subpoena made its way into her hands, and she knew it was do or die. Her panic was apparent the second she let Ava (Maura West) into her office, but then she got on that witness stand with the two people she loved most waiting to hear what she would have to say, and we were glued to our screens.

Kerr took Portia on a journey of truth for the court and truth for herself, as she tried everything she could to not crumble while all eyes were upon her. Kerr made sure every word Portia said was intentional and measured until Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) prodded too much.

Then, the fear was apparent on Portia's face. She was under oath, and had to tell the truth, no matter how much she begged Alexis to stop, warning her that she would not get the answers she was looking for. Portia's voice was small as she finally admitted that she was in a hotel room registered to Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) on the night that Drew (Cameron Mathison) was shot.

Dignity and grace

After falling apart in Ava's arms outside the courtroom, Portia held her head up high and returned to General Hospital to face the music. After being suspended, she packed up her office, clinging to hope that she would return.

Later, one of Portia's best-ever moments came. She walked out of her office in silence and took Isaiah's hand in hers. She knew everyone was gawking, but she had told her truth and was ready to live with the consequences. In the end, this all started with her child and a desperate need to protect her at all costs. Now, Portia has another child on the way and we can't wait to see what Brook Kerr does next.
